When I was 17 yrs old in 1978 I really began to struggle as a result of yrs of drug misuse, adolescent angst, poor concentration, parental alcoholism .... the usual. I was basically rescued by TM that year. Today I worked a 12 hour shift in a Toronto emergency department where I have been employed as a registered nurse since 1989. I worked as a paramedic for 8 yrs before the nursing gig. Over 42 years in emergency departments. It has been an eventful , challenging career to put it mildly. But today, at age 63, I still value my work, the work of my many colleagues and the important validity of every one of my patients and personal relationships as much as ever. I am in excellent physical health and also enjoy a well balanced life away from my workplace. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I simply would not have made it nearly this far without TM. I still meditate and would encourage others to explore this further. Mr. Lynch draws it all up very well in this clip. If you're still not convinced, trust the Beatles.

Unfortunately, I did, then every time after that when I tried to meditate, it made me think of her. My life ended up being fueled by drug and alcohol dependence leading to major depression and guilt. @@timendrizzi2180 it's unique to the individual. It'd do you no good to hear his mantra. It's not a phrase or a word necessarily. It's just a trick people use sometimes. Without outer stimulus, your brain begins to think.. focusing on this.. noise.. or whatever, stops you from thinking. Your brain requires stimulus. And you aren't letting it have any. Your body isn't giving it any more info.. so it stops trying to gather any more. Slowly.. your mind forgets it has a body.. and you begin to detatch. So the mind turns inwards. And you are completely awake during this. You make connections and examine things from this persective.. and it changes you. It's sitting around quietly for a few minutes. Whats the risk?

The word of God plainly teaches that man is spiritually dead in sins and trespasses against God. This is why the Lord Jesus Christ said “you must be born again”. This is being born from above, meaning of God, by His Spirit. You must be reconciled to God. The bad news is you cannot do this by yourself. And far worse, you stand under the judgement and condemnation of God because of your sin against Him. The good news is the coming of the Son of God in the Person of Jesus. He came as the promised Saviour (Messiah) of the world, the Christ. He took on our human nature to live and die in our place. In His crucifixion, Jesus took upon Himself the judgement we deserve for our sins, paying the price in our place. When He rose again from the dead three days later this was affirmed, just as He and the prophets before Him had said. Now He reigns as Lord and King in heaven and brings salvation to all who call upon His Name. God commands all people everywhere to repent, turning to Him, and to believe in this Saviour. The promise is the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. This is true peace and true joy, in the knowledge of God Himself.

Sure wish I could find that bliss again. I've tried yoga, TM, all kinds of therapy, all kinds of treatments, all kinds of alternate healing, yet I can't find the way back to happiness. I'm in my 60's and life has become really sad. I think security and money in the bank helps a lot. The community is the ultimate form of security for most human beings.

Understand your thoughts, thanks for sharing. Maslow reckoned we all need some things to make the best of our lives; security and shelter are big parts. We also don't tend to be ready for changes, and as life progresses our relationships with others change and like you've illustrated, times can get tough, sometimes really tough. It might be that you've got a book to write? It may even be a counterpoint to the 'things get better if you do xyz' happiness culture. It may be if you retrace your story, the things that you view as happy then, may have a different tone. Sell your story, maybe make a few pennies and and see what others think.. whatever happens, I know that hope and despair are next door neighbours and they borrow bread and milk from each other. This is the most beautiful and accurate explanation of my own experiences with meditation over the last two years. When you achieve this state, the inner light and truth is laid out before you. The feeling of fullness and bliss is indescribable, and all doubt in higher conciousness is simply removed. It is profound and life changing and can only be understood by experiencing it. No god bothering, organised mainstream religion that is merely an extension of darkness control will ever deliver this whole truth, and it can not be fully articulated verbally by those who have experienced it.. Individual spirituality through meditation is key! Peaceful travels.

Human Free Will does that through manipulating the messages of the Churches, saying: "We are right, and they are wrong." The only way to truly achieve it is to earn it through self reflection and meditation. The reason everyone says the feel this on acid though is because it shows you what’s actually possible within yourself, but it’s your job to reach out and grab it. After all it’s all atoms

🧑🏫-For anyone that reads this comment-It has taken me over 6 and 1/2 years to uncover a video that best describes in scientific terms what it is like to transcend human consciousness and gain biblical enlightenment! I have watched hundreds of videos on numerous online sites and this is the only video that even comes close to describing such a life-altering event. In 2018 I was going to end my life for the 3rd and final time. 3 days before my planned suicide, with my gear and suicide note ready I started practicing martial arts again. I started meditating intensely, eating healthy and eliminating some of my human sins so this way I would be more able to leave this reality with a clean conscious. During one of my deep meditative sessions I achieved what was described in this video. I have not lied In almost 7 years. After my "spiritual event" I immediately entered into military training mode by mimicking dozens if not a few hundred videos I'd accumulated over decades of computing. I lost 150lbs in 11 months. I read dozens of books four times as much as I had ever read in my entire life. My physicality, personality, mental state and emotions were all altered by this experience. I no longer fear death AT ALL. If I'm being honest,I'm looking forward to it in the next 40 to 50 years. Until then I Must live my life in accordance with the visions of my "higher Self" that was given to me. No go learn how to meditate for 30 minutes a day for at least a decade. 😇☯️🧘☯️🥷

Meditation has proven effects on the brain, and is highly recommended. The 'Transcendental' aspect of meditation really is an attempt to describe the sensations of light and space in our head when doing meditation. This is very calming and really alters your overall experience. The particular meditation David Lynch does is repetition of a word or 'mantra', but the first and most basic meditation is to focus on your breathing. That is called 'Prana' , the breath and life-force. No need for anything external to be introduced.
@bryanbenson65513 жыл бұрын
I heard that meditation on your breath(prana) is a better meditation than transcendental, which focuses on a mantra connected to your external reality. What do you think?
@Anyonecandoit262 жыл бұрын
The "transcendental" aspect of TM refers to the experience of pure consciousness, which is beyond thought and feeling. It transcends relativity. It is Beyond. It is the Absolute, the Unbounded, the Source, course and Goal of all evolution and progress in life. It goes far beyond any vague feelings of "spaciousness". Meditation techniques that focus on breathing are vainly attempting to mimick the physiological effects of transcending during TM. These techniques confuse the Path with the Goal. It is noticed that breathing naturally comes to a standstill during TM and they try to copy that by focusing on the breathing. Needless to say, for most people, this is counterproductive!

I have alot of good effect of meditation but it has also made my anxity worse or made me feel like " fear is a magnet" it makes me to senseble where i react to every sound every this and that, it has good effects but it made some of my worrying ( at night) when you hear a random sound etc made me more anxious for " bringing up all the anxity" and me not being able to deal with it, and thats not always a good thing, ... i would say, do it in moderation spesially if you are very sensetive as a person ( no offence to meditation, its better to meditate then to do nothing of course, i still meditate 10min a day.)
@Anyonecandoit262 жыл бұрын
@@bryanbenson6551 transcendental meditation doesn't focus. Maharishi called it "The Technique of No Technique". Focusing holds the mind on the relative level. The point is to transcend that. You won't do that by focusing on anything... breath, mantra, heartbeat ...

A lot of fluffy lovely words and notions in this video but mostly without much meaning. Meditation does not need silly " magical words" given by "mystical gurus". Trying to achieve states of "bliss consciousness" through repeating mantras is a diversion from the path of coming to see the mind as it really is. Bliss and joy etc are just tempting but ultimately illusory mental/emotional conditions, to be recognised and then let go off. That is my understanding. Plus, I don't trust an organisation that guards its "magic words" and only grants people access at a price. I'm glad that modern psychology is sorting out the ancient techniques that are valid and verifiable from those that are mixed up in mystical mumbjumbo like TM. Still, if it works form you and helps you live a peaceful and compassionate life, then that is great!

thank rodrigo notari you for this video...i never heard speak so clear about such a complex matter, oh yeah...i love david lynch...what a man...so generous sharing his wisdom...and for free...i love his film - a true story - the idea, the tempo, the actors, the music in it are fantastic...i like lynch´s idea at the end of this video that negativity is mind controlling...if we have sadness, depression, anger...it poisons our mind, cause then sorrow controls the mind, not us, lynch indicates so naturally that we could go free ...if we transcend ourselves... liberating ourselves, says just a few get there...just the square root of one per cent of the population...only 750 people in the whole of france...incredible...sounds easy to transcend oneself...but it must be very difficult if so few get it...lynch says our world is sad and negative, like an absurd joke, or like someone blowing childrens head off in the name of peace...but by using transcendental meditation techniques we could reach our full positive potential, the enlightment, infinite conscioousness, creativity, bliss, peace, love. AMEN.

Been reading about letting go and meditation for the past year. It's really good to see a filmmaker talk about this topic.

What he says is the absolute truth. Once you get to that place that is no thing, yet everything. All potential. Your life and truth starts to unfold. Things you’ve never thought or imagined will open in ways beyond words. That is why each of us must seek. Only by experience do you know and the knowing will change our world. 💡💡💡💡💡💡🌎🌟

I have learned small bits and pieces of this information overtime from so many sources (I’m a humanities major lmaooo) and recently I had an experience that was quite shocking. I had a period of about a month where my mind was flooded with ideas that seemed way out of my league. Things about math and physics. And one day trying to quote my mind I started to say out loud “wake up, wake me up, we’ve got a lot of work to do” over and over in the shower. I kept saying it as I got changed. I think I must have had some taste of this transcendental meditation on accident. Cause I went to walk my dog in the park immediately after and I felt soooooo different. I couldn’t even begin to explain. It’s what made me start searching Google in the first place which lead me here.
