This is the ultimate mantra "Am I Aware" Once you internalize this, it will lead you to truth. It becomes effortless! And it's not meaningless, but totally meaningful! Just by asking this question, your mind is directed back to its source: "BEING."
@davidc.287811 күн бұрын
What’s your source for this mantra?
@dylanthomas671711 күн бұрын
@@davidc.2878 I've heard it recommended by Deepak Chopra & Rupert Spira It's basically an alternative to the the question "Who Am I" (Ramana Maharshi) . Just ask yourself: "AM I AWARE." The answer is YES. But this awareness is beyond thought/emotions/body/ etc. For me its a mantra, as its so easy to say and repeat. ........................................................................................................................ "Like a short cut for the mind. It just directly goes to the experience of being aware. Because unless you go to the experience of being aware, you can not answer the question am I aware. So between the question AM I AWARE & the answer YES, the mind collapse's into its source. Awareness briefly shines. And that shining is the knowledge yes I AM. Hence the mind then raises again and answers yes I am. But that Yes I AM comes from the experience of consciousness knowing itself. " (Rupert Spira) kzbin.info/www/bejne/maOaepevbc5pp6c

i’ve never given a type of meditation much thought, but when i found myself daydreaming and in my still moments of thoughts to myself, naturally i started to produce what is defined as “transcendental meditation”. the spirit seeks and finds the answers, we all need to listen to it a little more. also it helps to have an open, creative mind! though i’m not sure what comes first. it’s kind of like the chicken and the egg.
@marccas109 күн бұрын
Yes and no. The transcendental part comes in space between the thoughts. The mind tends to want to daisy chain the thoughts. The difference in TM is as far as I understand it, is the be aware of thought a thought arising then being observed and recognised and then fading away and then that moment after it is gone. The trick of then returning to the inside until enevitably another thought comes again is caught recognised and then the return. It makes thoughts solid and obvious rather than the automatic default thought stream.

This is a problem with many people who find a practice that works for them, they come to believe that is the one and only practice that works for everyone. It is that belief that makes it a religion. We need to transcend this belief to see what is truly universal.

Yes, we cant talk or think our way out of suffering, but we can certainly transcend the suffering one! What a relief!, what great news! Tell everyone! My Guru Adi Da Samraj once said to a devotee who said "I have a question" Adi Da Samraj "No, you dont have a question, you ARE a question.........the only satisfactory answer to the question of "why anything", is the total and complete transcendence of the questioner". What problem is there in mindless Being?

Where can I learn TM ? Or just meditate
@HeartFeltGesture10 күн бұрын
@@fabiancurto6484 You are basically learning to control your attention. You will notice how out of control it is when you set yourself the task to only give attention to one thing. Meditation is also called one-pointedness. In meditation you will learn to hold attention where you want to. This practice has also been called "Taming the drunken monkey" for obvious reasons. Try starting with a simple candle meditation. Sit comfortably on the floor with a cushion. Light a candle in front of you. Focus on the flame, only the flame, nothing else, just flame, flame, flame. Not thoughts about the flame, just flame, not thoughts about the candle, just flame. Simply mindless behold the flickering flame. Now watch how little control you have of your attention. Simply notice you dont have very much control at all, dont feel bad about that, just know, ah, that is the case. Always return to simply beholding the flame, then you will go off again into thinking, once you realize you have wandered into thinking, bring attention back. It will wander again of course, bring it back, and on, and on, and on, and on. You are exercising an extremely weak "muscle" so it will take time to gain strength. But it is worth it. The goal is to be able to come to rest as the witness observer, you will notice you can watch your mind from a motionless position. Then strange things start to happen.....
