David MacMillan: "Amazing doesn't even begin to cover it." Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2021

If you had the chance to meet a Nobel Prize laureate, what would you ask?
High school student Lucas Madrigrano Azeredo met 2021 chemistry laureate David MacMillan to talk about life, football and career choices. MacMillan also shared his best advice for young people that are starting university.
When asked about the moment he received his Nobel Prize medal, MacMillan tells Lucas: ”Amazing doesn’t even begin to cover it."

I am a bit late, but congratulations! Interesting to hear you and about your student years. I can't help thinking how wonderful the Scottish Educational system is which allowed you to find your owen path. Who said curiousity would kill the cat! Unhealthy curiousity might. I can understand your tears of joy. and you family. My question is: Do you think all Educational systems should be more open to the individual needs of students? The purpose of my question is and therefore another question, would we not create better breakthroughs, Leadership and envolvement within the scientific world. I am 70 years of age , grew up in Ireland and live in the Netherlands since 1974. I have been a Welfare Officer also a mentor to students. As regards education I think I will always think outside the Box.
