I think I’ve commented this elsewhere but i do have to say that Chris is probably the best person I’ve heard for really helping people to understand not only the history of this but also the unspeakable damage it’s done and continues to do. Really such an effective voice out there.

may i just say how enjoyable it is to watch the two of you genuinely listen to each other?

I'm self educating myself, I watched everything there is on Mormons, then Jahovas Witness, I also tried to read Quran, I've read Bible, now it's time for Scientology. Chris, you are awesome!!! I already learned so much from you.

Seriously one of the greatest things I've watched/listened to in a while. Some seriously interesting discussion and insight not just into Scientology but how they are surviving in the modern world; really brings to light broader issues with society and Western government. Shelton is a very smart man, and a great story teller.

Shame the church would sick their army of lawyers to stop anything like that being made, claiming something like defamation despite the record of events. The production budget would likely be bled dry just in legal fees.

I'm making my way through these and they're amazing! Great job, Chris! I've been subscribed to your channel (practically) since the beginning, but I've already learned so much new information from this series. Thanks for doing these!

Regarding saving the world through Scientology: if the Church thinks it has the only solution to the urgent problems of war, world peace, etc, then why not give the solution away to the public for free, immediately? Why charge large amounts of money to a select few?

Seriously, call a press conference tomorrow. A grateful peaceful population will more than repay the church in donations.

Because then you wouldn't be 'in exchange'. It's a bedrock of L Ron's philosophy of if you don't make people feel like they had to earn the information, they won't be as wont to apply it. Just like how you tend to naturally take better care of things you pay for than you actually do things that are handed to you.

@@cindys9491 Hubbard didn't ever want the Co$ to be a donation machine, that's Miscavage. Hubbard got mad when the monthly reports showed that the donations were higher than actual course materials being sold and completed, and would rage at the Reindorf's who were his CM's if the reports came out that way.

Exactly, Christians give away the Bible placing it in hotels and hospitals, but all these cults with their super secret texts guard them and in Scientology charge stupid money for their texts. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Love the discussion of who ripped off whom in the ad campaign. Now they’re like “nah you can have it.” “No no it’s yours. We were wrong.” 😉I guess one lesson in all of this is that, as the writer of Ecclesiastes said, “There is nothing new under the sun.”

I’m in Australia and I’ve seen some Scientology churches around and book shops and they always scared me mind U I’ve never been to any church as I think they’re are all weird and most Australians don’t talk about god or believe in imaginary things. It’s rare u meet a bible basher and if u do u laugh at them which is a bit mean but true.

The story of scientology is fascinating; but I think anyone stupid enough to get involved with them deserves everything they get; I bought their book about what was Happiness or something, it was so boring and simplistic and their films about psychiatry are so ridiculous and over manufactured, I just found it all very boring right from the get go and it was obvious they were after your money too! Why doesn't the FBI bust them, answer they've got too much money and power!
