David is a man I admire so much for his rants as I find myself agreeing with so many of them. My favourite was one he did on one of the Big Fat Quizzes (I think), where he correctly called people trying to get you to dance as bullies. He put into words what I'd been thinking. Having been through that nightmare of avoiding someone at a wedding party because of it, I was fully in agreement with him.

Speaking of TMaWL, I've always thought he really shines in the "X who are unaccountably Y" sketches. They're kind of his vehicle to do some "ranting humour." In particular, Daventry was a byword for Hell-on-Earth in my marriage for a decade, because of the Vicar sketch.

I listened to full podcast where they go a bit more in detail about being envious/jealous of Lee Mack's popularity. Rob, Lee Mack is your most viewed interviewee because we love WILTY. Nothing against Lee, but you three make a holy trinity of laughing through good times and bad. He's not above you two. Bob Mortimer is your second most viewed after all, and that's also because of the WILTY laughs. I am sure this video will also reach a similar number of views. WILTY is nothing without David.

The ironic thing is, while I've worshiped at the alter of Lee on WILTY all these years and loved him in every other panel show type appearance (now most recently on Taskmaster) but a few years back when I finally went to check out his proper sitcom, I couldn't stand it. Once the engine is up on temperature, the heat and the fan will speed up.
