Even with his choice of coaches he braught in Maclaren, not only a coach he had worked with but a coach that had worked with sir Alex during initeds treble winning season.

David Gill who was the chief executive left with Sir Alex and in came Ed Woodward who had absolutely no idea about football whatsoever and he was the main decision maker at the club apart from the owners. Moyes was a disaster, Van Gaal and Mourinho weren’t much better even though they won silverware, I do think if Mourinho got backed properly like Ten Hag is now he would’ve won a lot more, maybe even a title. What Manchester United should’ve done when Sir Alex retired is go and get Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp. Pep left Barca in 2012 and didn’t join Bayern until 2013, Klopp won 2 titles with Dortmund in 2011 and a double in 2012, he should’ve been priority number 1. For the people who say Moyes should have been given more time. I'll say this. David Moyes failed at United for multiple reasons- gutting the backroom staff, alienating the players (listen to Evra, Rio, Vidic etc), lacking sufficient tactical nous, having a small club mentality with some of the clangers he said in pre and post match interviews like 'we strive to be like City' and thinking he could do it all himself without delegating, playing an awful style football with no clear pattern of play which confused the players (again listen to ex players interviews who talk about this), dithering and messing up in the transfer market where he cancelled the Thiago transfer that was already in place and ended up signing Fellani for more money on the last day of the window when he could have signed him for a few million less a few weeks earlier by activating the release clause. The list goes on. The man was a disaster zone and completely out of his depth. There is a reason Utd were 7th when he got the chop. Had he stayed he would have ruined the club even more. What exactly has Moyes proven since? Sacked from Sociedad and West Ham the first time round after almost getting both teams relegated. Relegated Sunderland. OK he returned to West Ham and he won a the equivalent of the League Cup in Europe last season but that's not the champions league or even the Europa league. It's a tin cup and that's all he's ever won in 25 years of management. His teams always play boring defensive football. His strikers never seem to be prolific because of how he sets teams up with this set up to not lose mentality. He is also on the verge of being sacked from West Ham again. I respect what he did at Everton but some people go over the top about what he did there. He was there for years and slowly improved them on a tight budget. However, although he was praised for this (a little too much at times) there have been smaller clubs since like Swansea, Brentford etc on a much smaller budget who employed managers that played more attacking, progressive football that had successful seasons. Even Pullis at Stoke and Dyche at Burnley is comparable to what Moyes did. Although those 2 played dire football, Stoke and Burnley had smaller budgets than Everton and those 2 managers kept the club in the league for years and even overachieved in a couple of seasons qualifying for Europe. OK Moyes cemented Everton's place in league but so has everyone else that has managed that club as they still haven't been relegated. What Moyes did at Everton wasn't some miracle or anything like some people claim. It's not like Everton were knocking on the door of top 4 every season. Moyes overachieved at Everton in a couple of seasons but couldn't keep that up and even when in the one season he qualified for the champions league he got dumped out of the competition in the qualifying round. Look at how well Martinez initially did at Everton when he took over from Moyes and improved the style of play. In terms of managerial ability and reputation Moyes is in the same category as Big Sam, Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce etc . That's nothing to be sniffed at but he is nowhere near being good enough for a top club.

In all that bible passage you seem to miss the fact that older players needed to be moved on quick, as they were way past it, injury prone and useless, Evra already tried to leave before Moyes and got mugged by Woodward.. Kroos, Thiago and Cesc were promised then the board fcuked up and he didn't want Fellaini or Mata. The only things that land squarely on Moyes was his tactics and handling of interviews. But it's a total lie to say he wanted Fellaini. He also said no to Pogba.

@@MrGts92 You're moaning about a bible passage but your reply is 2 paragraphs long 😂Anyway, you've picked 2 things out of all the points I've raised as a counter argument as to why Moyes should be given more time. Lets address those shall we. 1. You claim some of the older players needed moving on quick because they were old. injury prone and useless. I never stated otherwise. I said he alienated the dressing room which is fact based on what some ex players have revealed in interviews since leaving the club. E.g. Asking Vidic to watch videos of Phil Jagielka to become a better defender. The older players such as Rio, Vidic, Evra etc had a big influence on the dressing room at the time and were helping manage it to keep standards high. As a manager you need players with character like this around the place for leadership and you need them on your side. As Moyes rubbed the senior players up the wrong way he was a dead man walking. If it was Moyes' aim to get rid of them as they weren't in his plans then he went about it the wrong way. 2. You said the board messed messed up the Cesc, Thiago and Kroos signings and its a total lie stating Moyes wanted Fellani. Firstly, I never stated in my original comment whether Moyes did or didn't want Fellani so you are the one telling total lies claiming I said things which I didn't. You don't seem to be able to read properly. I said, as shown above, Moyes was dithering in the transfer market and ended up signing him for money money in the last few minutes on deadline day after his release cause expired earlier in the summer when he could have been purchased cheaper. As you are the one bringing up the topic of Moyes not wanting Fellani, where have you got that information from? If that was the case why did Moyes put in a joint bid for both Fellani and Baines earlier in the summer ..hmmm. Yeah the board messed up with Cesc i agree with you on that. Shades of Frankie De Jong. But don't bring Kroos into it, that was a summer 2014 target which didn't go through as Moyes had been sacked by then and Van Gaal took over. As for Thiago, it famously didn't happen as Moyes claimed he didn't know enough about him. Fergie had already lined it up and it just needed the finishing touches to the deal and Thiago was texting Rio asking him what's going on as he wants to join. Rio said in an interview that he asked Moyes about it and his response at the time was they were looking at a couple of other players and deals were being worked on for them. Shocking stuff. Moyes also earned the nickname 'Dithering Dave' by Everton fans due to his uncertainty and overly cautious approach in the transfer market when he was the Toffees manager. So I'd suggest you get your facts straight and stop putting words in my mouth before you call me out again.

“Don’t worry, David. Do as we say and you’ll find your place”. Always thought Moyes ballsed it up bringing his Everton staff but if your new coaches said that to you, wouldn’t you rather have people who listened and respected you?

Anybody who was around the club when moyes took over knows. Our entire decline is purely down to moyes coming in and ripping up everything that made us successful behind the scenes. All the little details it took sir alex 27 years to perfect. The coaches, the scouts, the food, the training, and so many other things. Instead of coming in and learning from rene and mick, he said right lads, this is how i did it at everton.

He was so beefed up by the idea that he was “handpicked” by Fergie who probably and deliberately handed him a poisoned chalice that his ego got the better of him! Fergie himself told him to keep things as is at the club but sadly for us and for him, he was never the right man for the job! His ego blinded him as to his ability to do the job!
