Had the privilege of meeting and working with David Oliver back in the mid 70's. I did some back up vocals on some demo records he was working on. He played this for us in the studio, and I have been in love with this for over 40 years. He was such a nice and very talented artist. We lost a great artist when he passed away....but he left this beautiful gift.

The is 1981. My first year at the University of the North. It's a Saturday night. We having one of those evening- BMW (Booze, Music & Women). DJ Ike Grant spins this song on the deck. The mood changed. Lovers started pairing each other like electrons. The whole atmosphere was filled with love, hugs and kisses. David Olivier made it all possible. He might be gone but this song will remain an epitaph of the legacy he left for those who have an ear for good music.

@keepthechange15 ай бұрын
@@boldcouncil9087Precisely. This song is far too poignant and poetic, to be compared to or aligned with a “player”. It has nothing to do with being a player. David poured his entire heart out in these lyrics. This is about pure, unadulterated Love! The orchestra brings chills over me as I listen. Unapologetically; respectfully. ❤❤❤ 8-13-24 @ 11:11 pm

I didn't know where David came from but met him at the Welborne Day nursery when we both were around 4-5 years old. I got to go possibly a little sooner because the head nurse there, Bea Richardson, was my Godmother. David had a beautiful soul but after age 14, I never saw him again. Coincidentally, he was playing at one of the stadiums in Orlando one year when I was visiting but I had to choose between going to see him or driving back to the Chicago area town I was living in. I chose to go to bed that night but just tossed and turned. Couldn't sleep a wink! Next year I came back and he was dead. I loved his voice. Heard him and knew it was him when I first heard Ms in my squad car! Hadn't heard him since I was 14. How about that?
