Thank you for the upload. The video reminded me of how awesome a player David Palmer is. Just brilliant.

el Hindi was quite possibly one of the most skilled players of that time from a technical standpoint. Shot selection, quick hands, great court presence and coverage but he was also the nastiest of players on the circuit at that time. Always looking for Let, Stroke, constant whining if he couldn't get his way, unnecessarily very physical. I think he set the standard for today's Mostafa Asal who is just now learning to keep his head calm and play the game properly.

Old hat now but that collision was a comedy of the highest order. Palmer making out that El Hindi made a deliberate movement with his knee to keep him down has no basis in fact, no matter how many times you watch the replay. It was a good tactic to use though as i feel he knew a stroke was probably coming, which is normally the case when you hit the ball back to yourself. Shame really cause it was an awesome dive and recovery shot.

Good times when having to move to the ball still when being hindered by the opponent was just a let instead of this stupid 'he probably could have made a good shot if he would have gotten to the ball so it's a stroke' of today.

What is this? Such poor quality compared to squash these days

Rubbish!

It's very high quality just slower because the racquets weren't as light/powerful/forgiving as they are now.

I don't see much difference between then and now; similarly, racquet Technology is little changed - maybe 10gms in weight. In summary I don't think you know what you're talking about with all due respect 😢.
