David Pearson Remembers His Daytona Battles With Richard Petty

David Pearson and Richard Petty had one of the greatest rivalries in NASCAR history. Daytona was the site of their most famous battles. In an interview with The Scene Vault Podcast, David Pearson remembered the cunning way he beat Petty in the 1974 Firecracker 400 and his fantastic finish in the 1976 Daytona 500.

@EpikProductionz JAJAJA Go back in the books and see how Petty did when the Real KING raced head to head. Pearson only raced occasionally and IF he felt like it. EVERYBODY inolved in racing back then knew DP was the man...... even the Petty's. ;)

Big Pearson fan. this is one of those deals where someone's been telling the same story for so long that they actually start believing it. There was no way Petty was going to pass him. No chance. He and Petty exchanged words, something to the tune of that Petty was not going to lose to any more of Pearson's games. That's exactly what happened. He lost yet again to Pearson's games and that's the bottom line.
