My grandpa passed February 17th, 2022 due to kidney failure. My dad and all his brothers sang this song at his funeral. When I tell you I had never felt so calm and pure when there angelic voices sang this song. I thank the Lord for all he's done for us. God Bless you all.

Several years ago I received free tickets to an outdoor concert. The lady singing was very good. My wife and I walked up during intermission to say thanks and buy one of her CD's. I told her, "God has sure blessed you with a beautiful voice." She swallowed purposely hard and said, "I have to rehearse all the time to be able to sing this well." My wife took my hand and said, "Let's go, we're not buying any of her CD's" and we left. I felt genuinely bad for this woman who seemed unaware of the source of all gifts of life. That said, David Phelps performance here is so God given there can be no doubt it is a special gift he is to use for the glory of God. Thank you David for this performance.

4 or 5 years ago I had the opportunity to sing this version in an Easter drama our church did. I had battled bronchitis the entire Easter week. This was in Sunday evening. My dad died last April 21 and the grief is unbearable. I am seeing two therapists and a psychiatrist due to this and many other mental health issues that I’m dealing with. Losing my father was like I died myself. I still cannot believe he’s gone. However, I’m so grateful that God took him home after my dad had been struggling with a very long and horrible illness. Six weeks ago at about 8PM I blew out my aorta. Instead of taking me to the closest hospital, the ambulance took me about 5 minutes farther to a Level 1 trauma hospital that had a heart surgery team on call for the night. Even then, I was later told, I barely made it. What followed was an 11 hour surgery, 4.5 hours on a heart-lung machine, and my heart was stopped for 20 minutes. The lead heart surgeon (I had 3 cardiologists doing the surgery) told me I had the worst blow-out he had ever seen and that I had a 10% chance of making it. Spent 5 days in ICU. In my drug induced coma, this was one of the songs that God brought to my remembrance and I "sang" it over and over again, despite having a breathing tube down my throat. The other was Lamentations 3:22-23. That is the only thing I remember from those days. I'm alive because HE's alive and heaven's gates are open wide with all of God's blessings and His mercies are new every morning.

Correction: after reviewing the $769,000 hospital statement, I was in ICU for 11 days followed by 5 days in the general recovery. And my now four cardiologists all tell me that there is no way I should be alive, especially as it took 1:35 hours to get to the emergency room. Fortunately Jesus didn't listen to them.

Since I was a little girl worship through music has been so very important to my Daddy was like that so much. Mr Phelps has made God so very real for me. One thing about Mr Phelps he is humble and loves the Lord so much. When he is singing it is like he is praying. Since starting to listen to the Gaithers my relationship with the Lord has grown so much and it was almost dead. It took me several weeks to turn on the Gaithers were southern gospel and I was not raised that way so it felt strange. But, I thank the Lord for coming back into my heart. May he shine out every day. God Bless ALL the Gaither singers.
