It's so cheesy that there're actually people who liked that line and quote it, it's just a silly cliché line that a character in the movie uses to make his re-telling of an event more dramatic and silly; it's not actually a good line, it's pretty run of the mill, and it's intended to look silly

I just realised its based off of “the story of daniel boone” when he goes away from home and starts his story in the part of kentucky where he makes a fort called “boonesborough” in the cumberland gap. Im halfway through the book annsi recomend it, the song makes alot of sense when you read the book wven partially through. The cover of the music video speaks some of the book as well.

Oh look - Another slick, soullessly clever, well-appointed flick fulla boys from Guy Ritchie ... these opening graphics are such a pitch perfect promise of a sensuous sinister world ...but the MUSIC! listen ! ....isn’t that Gillian Welch? Yes! So this is a David Rawlings thing- This is AWESOME ! Because, you know, Guy Ritchie has shittons of fans and some are bound to track this tune down and have the good sense to want more. Personally I hope at least a couple discover Gillian as well. Imagine Guy Ritchie being responsible for some guy hearing ‘Elvis Blues’ ...

This song as well as “Ohio” sings about two very real places. Kent Ohio and Cumberland Gap Tennessee. To get to Cumberland Gap you have to go to the extreme SW Virginia where US 58 and 25E in Tennessee intersects. Kentucky as well as Pinnacle Rock is only a few miles due north of Cumberland Gap. Pretty in summer and heII in the winter. Mountains are beautiful though.
