Only just discovered him - he opened for James Bay this past Monday in DC -- wow! My hub (who is a bass player and knows who everyone is!!) knew he played with John Mayer. I am smitten and have been listening and watching his videos the last few days! So glad for this - except I wish I knew about him years ago! Better late than never, I guess! :)

I really miss DRH in JM's live band.
@Barbeta139 жыл бұрын
his whole old band was awesome, "Where the light is" is not one of the greatest live concerts ever only because of JM, he had a lot of awesome musicians backing him up (in my opinion xD)

I adore Lewis Taylor! I wish he would come out of his self-imposed retirement, and I also adore fishbone. Thank you for creating such amazing music, Chris!

he did by now ( In case you missed it) and has 2 new releases on bandcamp. also, the 1996 album was rereleased as a double CD with all the original b-sides!

@surfer1211 I think that when you play in a band with that much talent in it, you don't really mind who gets most attention. I think he is more than satisfied..

Once again I know it's a JM show; and JM is my favorite, I just wish DRH got some more recognition because his voice and his playing is supreme. DRH has been in JM' band for a long time so by now he must either not mind or must really care about and just not say anything, haha. Regardless, JM's a beast and DRH is close behind him. They are two great musicians and they couldn't be in any better spot by playing together. They wouldn't fit right anywhere else.

@MrJkwilliamson What's cool also is the first show JM ever went to, a Dave Matthew's show, DRH was part of the opening act! Just to add to your statement of JM being influenced by David Ryan Harris. I personally think JM has passed him talent-wise but I still LOVE DRH & his music, I just prefer JM. Like I posted previously, they both are incredible and they really belong no where else but playing by each other. Talent reflects well when it's bouncing between two musicians who hold it well.

I think that he's still in JMs band because they play well of each other & inspire each other. I wish he was in JM's trio too, but I guess then it would be a quartet. lol

David Ryan Harris is a great musician, with or without a Gibson Hummingbird :)
David Ryan Harris needs more recognition; he is a great musician and this B.B. King gig shows that. Personally John Mayer is my favorite but DRH is right on his tail. It's a shame that he as to take a back seat to JM at his shows. Like obviously it's a Mayer show but I wish DRH got more face time. For the summer and winter tours he played the 'Lucky' intro for JM's Slow Dancing and that was about it. Obviously he plays during the whole show but he's turned way down.

@imgoncalo123 John way better? Hell no. That is cuz he is playing in Johns band, and John gets to play all the main things, and DRH and RM plays backing, rhytm and slide.
