That's what I was thinking also. It makes one wonder if getting predictive testing is really a wise move. That's easy for me to say though and much MUCH harder for someone who has the disease in the family.

Is it possible to adjust things in the household to make it easier for him to do things? Like plastic dish ware and drinking glasses, putting small decorative things away that may break and make it harder to dust and using a soft duster. Using cleaning wipes instead of spray bottles and towels for kitchen and bathroom. Cordless or manual bissel for floors. Having him pull the bedding off and getting it ready for washing. Just a suggestion. I think being able to contribute and lessen her work load might help some with the depression.

Thank you for sharing your story. My husband also has Huntington disease and I had to make the tough decision to place him in a nursing home. It is not ideal, but the cognitive decline in Huntington patients is very hard. The constant demands and inability to wait and then the anger were starting to affect my mental well being. It is hard for those not affected by this horrendous disease what the individual and family goes through. Praying for strength for the both of you

So very sad, a friend of mine had it, but she was not aware. She lived in the mid-west, when she came back to PA everyone noticed a problem. Her brother advised her to go to the Mayo Clinic where they diagnosed her with Huntingdon’s. She eventually died from it.

A friend at work has this. I was checking out videos on Y-tube, and I came across a doctor that mentioned “autophagy”. Dude, try autophagy. Dr Berg has a lot of videos on it. It’s hard but you still have what it takes! Do it! God bless and good luck.

You need the NDIS. Disability support agency nationally in Australia. So messed up that UK doesn’t have that, or U.S

I found a treatment as I have a young man who I visit because he has been like a brother to my sons since his mother was diagnosed with HD 30 years ago and now he is quite bad himself and in care. The trouble is that although I got a copy of a mouse's brain free almost except one black spot of the tangles of protein, they have taken it off the net. Does anyone want to try cat's claw a rain forest bark as it seemed to help but they just suggested it might help with Alzheimer's and of course the drug companies want to make it into a drug to justify the high charges. God always provides a solution in the flowers of the field as it says in the bible. The patient has rejected it perhaps because his mind is already affected according to the medical people and I can't force him to try it.
