Joe Dulcie or however you spell it "Shut up a your face" keeping a classic Vienna by Ultravox of the top spot? Come on. As John McEnroe used to say "You cannot be serious". 1978 on #mymusicalroadto50 David Soul - It Sure Brings Out The Love In Your Eyes A single that was bought for me because it was Hutch again. This was his last biggy I think. Not long after this I remember my mum telling me, after reading the headlines about him beating his wife, that he wasn’t a nice man in real life. I wasn’t exactly reading the papers myself at the age of 6. Problem was she took whatever she read in them as fact and that was that, she still does. He was jailed for beating his then wife while she was 7 months pregnant, and so the papers pounced on his success and smeared the crap out of him. He’d also been battling a drink problem and had been trying to do something about it by getting professional help. But my mum didn’t tell me that bit. They eventually divorced in 1986 but by the end of 1978 his success in the charts was over.
