Man look at the cigarette. That was The Great David Soul's demise. He would most likely be with us if it weren't for that cancer stick called the cigarette. Cigarettes are the devil. David Soul is truly an icon that will never be forgotten. Rest in peace David you have earned your place in Heaven many times over. Peace And GOD Bless to you and your family. Thankyou for the wonderful memories.

COPD - it means your lungs are knackered. Some non-smokers do die of it, but generally it is a smoker’s disease. I quit smoking some twenty years ago, I started young. - best thing I ever did to give up. David’s looks deteriorated quite fast due to health issues.

Yea, raised in Europe where they smoked like fiends. It killed him but I think he was such a sensitive person and he was demonized at one time It weighs on your soul too I don't know why he went on those English shows they were just so critical and cruel

I really cared for David and I never judged him but I just feel intense sadness about some his "unfortunate incidents" I am grateful he lived to see 80 I knew some health nuts that didn't even make it past 60 he was incredible and I still miss him 😢❤

He did so well. This is a completely rubbish show, but David Soul kept his dignity throughout, andhis honesty at the end was phenomenal. He's a man who is utterly truthful about himself, he sees his faults and owns them, and emerges as a great man. No wonder he and PMG are still best friends, they both seem like people who put loyalty and integrity and honesty first. Love you, David Soul!

paraphrasing "28 years in Hollywood, waiting for the phone to ring, was enough." Brutally honest. I realize this is 19 years before his death, January 2024, but obviously an older David Soul won't keep his looks forever -- impossible for EVERYONE -- but it's nice to see him HERE in 2005 looking SO MUCH better -- and coming off as happy and content -- than the few years just prior to his passing. Re: "Starsky & Hutch" alter egos, alter life choices in love -- Let's wonder: did David wonder how Paul "did it" -- staying contently and happily married to the same woman, Elizabeth, for 14 years (until her much-too-soon and tragic death)? Let's wonder: did Paul ever wonder, "if it weren't for the crippling alimony payments, I'd like to have had the freedom with and variety of the ladies David obviously had; real beauties, too." David Soul 1943 - 2024, R.I.P. Lynne Marta 1945 - 2024, R.I.P. (actress who was David's lady and singing / music accompanist, mid- to late- 1970s)

I still see the handsome fox from the 70's. He's still there, the voice is similar.... What we watch on tv these days is so pathetic compared to the 70's. There was so much eye candy for a teenage girl with raging hormones. Starsky and Hutch, Emergency!, The Rookies, CHiPs, Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, The Rookies. Marcus Welby M.D. (James Brolin), and I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting but with all of these guys, most were playing cops, there's a doctor, a pair of Paramedic/Firefighters... With that much heat, it was hard to think about homework or anything else.

I agree I watched all those series . I was in elementary school when the series started and a teenager when.it ended. Had a crush on him.

@@Theasworld1984 I don't know about the 60's, most tv was b&w rather than color, they wore suits and all you ever saw was a brief kiss. In the 70's it all changed. I think the first show with a couple of hotties for me was Emergency! followed by Baretta, Starsky and Hutch (my favorite forever because of they truly cared about each other in a normal way), The Rookies, The Streets of San Francisco, Chips, and I know there were more. James Brolin on Marcus Welby M.D. All the hot shows were either cops or medical. Now we can rewatch them all either through dvd or digital. They stay young no matter how old we get.
