his voice is the perfect male voice: warm, deep, powerful with a feeling that he has a sad smile in his heart while singing.

Can you believe this didn't chart in the UK when it was released as a single in '88? Absolutely criminal.

Beautiful voice and lyrics and then the dense sound, in several layers of indescribable beauty. It also has one of the most musical silences I've ever heard. A masterpiece.

That was quite a year; Infected by The The, The Colour of Spring by Talk Talk and Secrets of the Beehive ... Over 30 years later it still feels special, important and yet to be fully understood.

It does just not feel like a song from 87, it hasn't aged at all, incredible.

Such a perfect song and such great lyrics. I always love the silent break in the middle of the song... like it's a brief moment to reflect. Poetry... The album "Secrets of the Beehive" is my favorite album. Such earthiness and great arrangments. A perfect album.

I saw him play live in Birmingham at the Alexander theatre about 1987 , he came on stage wearing white shoes and playing Orpheus on a white acoustic guitar, so cool and a great sound.
Man, I needed to hear this song today. It's so beautifully strong and well done.

I don't think it is necessary for him to become more famous... I just love the way he is, if he was too well-known he should never have written songs like these...

Great, great voice. I particularly like 'Waterfront'. I'm 49 but I must say that Japan were always beyond me, a step too far. I was more Human League, OMD etc. But the band that blew me away were Talk Talk, especially The Colour of Spring. Thank you, Mr Hollis, this day and every day.

Wonderful song and video. The aesthetics and the atmosphere that emerges from the video and the song are reminiscent of the spectral universe of Vaughan Oliver ( R.I.P. ) of 23 envelope and Ivo Watts Russel of 4AD. Thank you for this treasure, Mr. Sylvian.
