@@Ade2bee the actor is actually pretty ok, if not excellent to be able to do something with what she's given, the main problem is the writing. There are a few side problems too, like the fact the story doesn't need yaz and the deletion of the christmas special altogether (there was no new year special, it was ep 1 of the new season). The fact the new showrunner replaced the old team can be seen as negative too, as the director of photography is doing an awful job at doctor who. His plans would be great for any calm shows, but a show such as doctor who needs more movement and unordinary angles. While the new music is pretty harmonious and all, it doesn't feel like doctor who but more like a random serious show. It lacks epicness.

I love how they understand that they are custodians of a great and important role. I think Doctor's 2-12 really understood the fact that this wasn't just something they could wing and create. That there was a history to the character that needed to be taken into account. They found a way to make the character their own while still staying true to the core of who the character was. What is important when you give up being the Doctor is that no one is ever ready. The Doctor, the audience, the companion, no one. But it matters so much to the legacy of the Doctor to leave when they have secured the love of all the fans. Leaves big shoes to fill for sure but that is the beauty of the show.

I think the Christmas Special idea is brilliant. Each Christmas you get a special with a different retired Doctor, and the marketing makes which one a surprise. What a joy that’d be. You get Tennant one year, McGann the next, Capaldi on the year off, Smith for a tune. What a lovely idea for a new tradition. Plus, it’s such a fun concept with a lot of potential to experiment and go wild or keep it simple and charming. You could even get McCoy and Smith to team up on one and see them play off each other. That’d be great. Oh, I want this to become a thing. You could even get each Doctor’s original crew to make it! And, if Chibnall wanted, he could make them all combine for a MultiDoctor Special at the end of his run. It’s perfect.

Tytteas Yeah that makes sense! I was honestly surprised at the great quality of the videos since I'm used to the poorer quality with longer videos. I think I prefer it this way 😊

Paul McGann went on to portray The Doctor throughout the entire time between the TV movie and the new series. He voiced The Doctor in all of the radio dramas for years and years. Then they brought him back again for a short bit to show how he went from his Doctor to John Hurt's War Doctor.
