MT - how many hmar and kom are there? LMP - hmar house consist of around 30 houses and kom house consist of 50/60. MT - so with no weapons, what were you on duty? For what purpose? LMP - we took up duty because the riot was unexpected and things have gone bad so we took up our duty to stay alert and give info to others if the miscreants were to attack us specially at night . MT - the day when your village langza was burned, do u get any info prior to it? If then how many hours ? LMP - there was no gap of such info as we were attacked suddenly MT - how did you get info??? Is there anyway to know how many people came to attack ?? How many vehicles?? LMP - the info we get was from our people but there was no gap (no time to act probably) MT - so how many were u there? LMP - we were 5 including woman MT - the 2 women ran and escape, so ua saying as soon as you get the info how did u escape ? Or try to escape ? You were on your two-wheeler ? Did u not take David with you? Why and how did u two separated. Tell me more LMP - Davids house is on the west side and he said wait i need to get something from my house so i waited for him but i drove my motor (two wheeler) slowly down the slope without starting the engine, as it was a slope down my motor makes noise as i hit the brakes. They musthv heard the noise of my motor breaks so as soon as i reach the village handpump, they start firing from a distance. MT - so as soon as you heard the gunshot, you left your motor and what did u do? LMP - as soon as that, i left my motor and hide in a nearby bush. MT - but David wasn't able to escape or ran in your direction isit? So why did u separate with him? He went to take something from his house LMP - he went to get something from his house before he left MT - was David capture inside his house or on the road/way? LMP - he was captured while he try to escape MT - did u get to see the meitei militants when they start firing? LMP - no i didn't because i was escaping MT - so u left your motor, u ran to the Bush, is the bush far ? How long did u stay there ? LMP - the side of the garden were tall shrubs, that side. It is still inside the village MT - how far isit from the place they started burning the houses? LMP - its not that far, probably about 10 to 15 feet MT - so tell me how exactly you hid yourself? LMP - its a place there once stood a house and the shrubs/tall grass are about waist length now so i went in between those shrubs. MT - did u get to see the culprits in between those shrubs? Or u just keep your head down? LMP - since the shrubs i was hiding was very thin( as in less) i dare not make any movement so i just lay there MT - So when they captured David, did u get to hear what those meiteis said? LMP- yes some of it MT - so what2 did they say? LMP - dont kill him, capture him alive ( he heard it well and clear) MT - in meitei dialect LMP - yes MT - so as u hear that, u mus hv realise David was captured right? LMP - yes they chased him and capture him Till 6:14 min

LMP - i heard they capture him but i cannot hear whatever they say after that MT - but you knew he was tortured brutally? LMP - yes that i know but i cannot hear wat they say thereafter MT - so after they burned the village, how did u escaped the village? LMP - i stayed hidden for like 3 hours in the same spot, becuse the escape route, my only way out, there were no more shrubs/tall grass to hide so the chances for them to spot me ws high since they were still nearby. LMP - there were many chances, so i move/walk slowly along the shrubs/tall grass (very thin) there is MT - so where u headed from there? LMP- i head towards a chiru village, on the far end side of the village. MT - on your way, were u scared the meiteis will still be there in and around the area? LMP - yes i was watching over my shoulder the whole time, and i move only when i know my surroundings r clear. MT - so u move out, safe probably??? Was there any reinforcement for our side? Volunteers maybe? LMP - volunteers were present at Tuiring side MT - so u went to them? LMP - well, first i went towards one kom village, i went in one of the house, inside there were 2 people, chiru brothers, i went in and enquire about the situation to them, they told me all our villager left for samulamlan, only few of us are here guarding the village. So i ask again, did the meiteis came this way? They said, yes they came by, till Kom village field, they told me, the meiteis took them to the field as well and asked us to show our ids, after checking our ids they freed us and send us back to sit tight in our house. MT - how long u stayed at that house, village? LMP - chiru village? Um i didnt stay for long. They were cooking lunch, they told me to join them MT - what time was it? LMP - i switch off my phone so im not sure MT - lunch or dinner? LMP - lunch, i think it was around 9 am MT - so u didnt join them for the meal or did u? LMP - they said, we will call u when the meal is ready, go hide for now since the meiteis might come back, so i went to hide in the upper hilly region. But i dont feel safe enough even there, so i keep moving and head towards Samulamlan MT - so did u ran towards samulamlan? LMP - no i didnt, i walk normally MT - did u walk on the pave-road or on the side?? LMP - not on the pave- road, i cross a paddy field. MT - did u keep looking over your shoulder? LMP - i did not, i dont want them to be suspecius of my actions so i walk/move as normally as possible like that of the Kom villagers nearby. As i walked past the kom village, in between the kom village and samlamlan, theres this place 'reserve area', as i reach there, i heard gun shots on my distant right, so told myself i need to move away again, im not safe yet. I move towards the forest and hid there for another long hour, after a while i can hear the sound of people nearby, some whistling, some on their phone but i m not sure who they were exactly, the language they speak was blur, at that moment many2 scenario come to my head. I thought i was surrounded by the meiteis and i will meet my doom. Therfor, i stay stil in the same position, sat on the ground, and listen, just listen, trying to figure out whether they are meitei or my people.after Listening tentatively i can figure out it isnt meitei language, but going out was still not an option. and if i walk from there on il be stepping on the dry-leaves and we all know that makes lots of noise, also without prior info to the volunteers if i just went out, what if they shot me on the ground of mistaken identity?? Again i thought of how to get to the volunteers without alarming them, so i pull out my phone but then i keep getting call. I dare not take any calls for now if not il be exposed, time and again i thought il wait till dark, and il move at night. But then again, i thought i cannot wait out, i need to think of a new plan. So i pick my call and "hello" as low as i can, it was from my friends in Samulamlan. They call to ask where i was? They guided me from there, i move slow again, in between the hilly areas and the plain (not on plain site) after walking for sometime i reach Samulamlan. As i reach samulamlan, i was serve tea, while having my rest n tea i got a phone call from volunteers friends to not stay long, and to keep moving to the safe side i.e. tuiring. I was dropped at Tuiring frm samulamlan by motor. MT - so were u relief when u reach there? LMP - yes i was MT - back to david, u didnt hear his cries/scream while he was tortured? LMP - i knew he was tortured but not sure about his cries/scream MT - how many meitei came to burn the village? LMP - i cannot tell the exact but they were many. MT - well then thank you. It is clear Kom are the CIDs. How can they select and burn only the Hmar house when there are different communities living in the village?? For sure, there is Kom CID. It can also be the Village Owner who ran away the previous night of the attack. The Kom community will go down in history as being a forsaker to its brothers.

Fyi, Many Kom houses got destroyed as well, many stuff got looted too. This doesn't justified the equality of pain face by our Hmar brothers yet you should know that we are devastated and helpless too.

Sopi, please refrain from saying such things. We kuki-zos are all in this war. Yes, maybe koms are not getting touched as much as us because unc added them in their list but their houses were burned as well. Khongnangpokpi, which we cannot save at all has been abandoned and the villagers chased out. No one is safe. And if you are talking about langza and chinglangmei attack, know this first. The meiteis came from the meitei and meitei pangals villages side in the periphery. None of the koms saw it coming, just like how we did not see it coming. Koms and hmars volunteered together. They were also caught but released because of unc again. We are trying to unite everyone and be strong in this hard times, so we cannot afford to put blame on one community like that. Whatever has happened is because of the meities and we kukizos all have a common enemy. Everyone is scared and so, let us try to remain logical at a time like this.
