For me, David Tua has to be the most underrated heavyweight.. firing on all cylinders with wild speed in combinations and devastating knockout power that’ll shatter anyone’s spirit.. I can see why Evander chose him to spare when Evander went up against Tyson.. similar styles both Tua and Tyson; it could’ve been the fight for the 90s and for the ages to remember. Tua is a king without given a proper crown.

Only 5'10 and a short 70" reach, however huge punching power and vicious aggression this guy was a stud. His hooks and deverstating over hands were something special. I am sure most would of enjoyed his fan friendly fights. Really put New Zealand Boxing on the map and showed what type of fighters the Polynesians can produce. I will say it again, the greatest boxers to ever enter the ring, David Tua and Mike Tyson. Their fights were decided on the punches or jabs. Every other boxers accrued points on jabs but Tua and Tyson their punches determined the outcome of their fights. They are the Kings of the boxing ring.

Not at all. Maybe because they are punching hard asf . But tua style was more about landing left hooks when in short range over right hand to get inside . At the other hand Tyson was like switching stance (the body shot into right uppercut combination), and throwing his whole body into each punch. Tyson was more agressive but his chin wasn’t that good. Tua chin was the best of all time but his shape was terrible . Who could have won ? Tyson in his prime no doubt , maybe by point I don’t think he could have knocked out tua because Tyson’s strategy is to go all out , but exhausted and not that much pressure from him after 2-3 rounds. Tua was made of steel because he stood up against one of the most hardest puncher ike ibeabuchi for 13 rounds , even him couldn’t take down the tuaman.

George Chuvalo was a great boxer but not the greatest chin , ali and foreman wistood Smoking Joe’s punches , not Chuvalo, he got a tecnical knockout , he was standing , but he wasn’t even concious , he was trying hard to stay on his feet but all fuzzy David tua have been knockdown once in pro , at the end of his career by someone younger and way bigger than him (on juice btw) Knockouts twice when he was very young in amateurs by really tall , heavier and experience boxer But when he step into the ring as a pro he was an unstoppable machine , and the only thing you could do against him was out boxing him and win by points : tua have the best chin of all time 👌🏻
