A lot of bands i knew about them because of this show: My Dying Bride, Emperor, Paradise Lost, Anathema, Fear Factory, a very heavily rotation of Heartwork's Carcass, At the Gates (blinded by fear \m/), Hypocrisy, Dream Theater (pull me under video), Angra, Gorefest, Killing Joke, Strapping Young Lad (that Fuck you video!) ​@@clausjahnel5379 technology changed, the name of the practice didn't, but even then were guys who wouldn't put bootlegs and live recordings onto CD. i remember sending Cassettes of Peel Sessions in as late as like 2005. i remember making a deal with a mate from Scotland for the Augury debut from 2004 i didn't care for, he'd send me a pair of his old glasses. not sure why those were the terms, i just remember it as one of my last trades. P2P services like napster and kazaa were the same thing as trading, except you didn't get anything in return when you shared a file.

Oh yeah, I was referring to Illud Divinum Insanus. The electronic elements aren't very original. They were on Domination because Death Metal was just starting to use programming and things. Obituary did a bit with World Demise and I think both are great classic albums!

He started to imitate that 90s groove hardcore style, you know that fake sounding rasp they do in metalcore and most metal music today, which makes me cringe. I hate that style but more power to him for still making heavy music. The Vltimas stuff is actually pretty good. I don't blame him for the switch it might be due to health reasons, singing like Altars is way too aggressive to maintain for that long, it can cause serious damage to your vocal cords as you age.

David may have genuinely believed that the band were evolving, but it doesn't sound original, it doesn't sound genuine... Pete Sandoval himself said that he hated it and that had he been in the studio with them that he would have refused to play on the non-death metal songs. That's all but confirmation that the 'I' album is a mis-step, and we'll know for sure with what happens on the 'J' album.

Don't understand the hatred for the last record. I don't like it much either, but I'm not convinced that an attempt at something new means the band sucks now. Maybe they'll make another great record at some point. Maybe they won't. In my mind, their first three records are absolute classics, and I'll always respect them at least for that
