I might be wrong but a lot of jokes on American TV seem like they need to be told quite slowly for the majority of the audience to really understand why its funny and most British people deliver the punchlines one after the other in quick succession similar to how it is in many if our sitcoms.

David is a Walking Talking Hemorrhoid to Simon, but he draws the people to the TV by his antics, but Simon actually likes him and understands Davids addiction to laughter. We had Carol Burnett here in America for years, and he is just like her, addicted to laughter. Bring him over here across the pond, he can start on AGT, and he would be given a variety comedic show that would showcase his talents. (David and Sofia Varga would have a ball together on AGT)
