Anybody wanting to see him in a romantic role - sort of - see SeaChange, an Aussie drama from 1998. He's brilliant as Diver Dan. Charming, funny and eccentric all at once.

Yes, I know. It took some doing to convert the file, as it was very large in its original format. Sorry about that. It was the best I could do. I'll try to fix it at some point if I can. Thanks.

so it just depends on which part of aussie ur from? kinda like america where people who are from New York or Texas sound diff than those from iowa...oh and how the beatles accents are diff from kate beckinsale or emma watson?

I've listened closely to the narrator of that show and it sounds like he doing an impression of David. There are little nuances in David's voice that are missing in the narrator. They have credited someone named Drew Skye as the narrator, but there's little or no info on him. I can tell you that after listening to David's voice in many things over the years that he is not the narrator of Deadliest Warrior.

@Stybz It varies more by 'class' than by area - there's the 'broad'/ocker/bogan accent, which most people think of as Aussie, the middle one, and the 'cultivated' one which people here think sounds kind of british.

@SisterOfSorrow thats partly right. im aussie and i dont know anyone who sounds like steve irwin lol. most of us have more subtle accents like david's and its not really to do with what state u come from :) but it might be difficult for you to hear the differences between the different accents if you arent australian - just like i tmight be difficult for me to hear the difference in accents between an american and a canadian or something like that.

I've been told that the accents in Australia don't vary as much as they do in the US and UK. This was told to me by an Australian, so whether he was pulling my leg or truthful, I can't say for sure.

Are you American? Bcas you guys seem to think we sound British... I don't think we sound British at all, and I don't think Wenham sounds British either. He could probably do a pretty good pommy accent though. British are more articulate when they speak, we tend to slack off a bit and we say "aaaahh" at the end of words quite a bit. Steve probably exaggerated the accent a little bit when filming. Hugh Jackman really exaggerated his in 'Australia' -I think he did, maybe it was just all the lingo

i love david! he is so hot!! but can anyone answer this question of mine: david is australian but why doesn't he talk like steve irwin. he talks more like he's from england (like cary elwes)...
@bridg96315 жыл бұрын
Yeah your right, but I guess it just depends on who you listen to. Some people have stronger accents than others. If you got outback I'm sure they have a real Aussie drawl but I don't know because I've never been to the outback. I find it amusing when Americans/Canadians try to impersonate our accent and they come out with a warped British accent. lol

@SisterOfSorrow if we all sounded like steve irwin it would be a horrible. That is what we call an okka accent which is not as common as most outsiders believe it is. Also, you have to realise that Australians are made up of people from all over the world, so our accent is quite neutral. I think a good example of a good normal Aussie accent is listen to Hugh Jackman or Heath Ledger in an interview... even Cate Blanchett. That is what I hear every day.

Nooooooooooooooo! A romantic comedy would shame him! He's awesome as some kind of warrior, lol. :D

dont bunch all us americans together n refer to us as ignorant. i've never been out of the country, and i've never met an australian. ig i am as u say 'sheltered'. but see, i've heard steve irwin's accent, hugh jackman's and if you've ever seen What A Life on disney, all the aussies they've interviewed sound like the latter two....
