I'd like to volunteer for some musical therapy. Today is the 2nd anniversary of my wife's death. This particular recording has helped me through the pain, but anniversaries are for reflection. Thank God for David's gift of words and music.

Man I love this guy, invariably he will leave me in tears with with chills running up and down my shoulders arms and spine ,the first time I heard Language Of The Heart I couldn't stop crying . The heart of a poet wno writes so eloquently about the human condition. And his guitar playing which is another page altogether

Amazing fingers playing guitar chords, vocal cords hitting perfect notes, and all of that is blown away by the dexterity of his mind.

Show the way is so needed now. The army. The knife. They’re real. But it’s still love that set it up like this. It’s still love that will win. It’s still love that will ultimately show the way. I love you David Wilcox!

Having had the chance to see David in Katy, Texas many years ago, is still fresh in my memory. But, the best part was when he let me play the guitar he's playing in this concert. Thanks David. I'm still trying to figure out tunings. Best journey, still arriving, constantly. Love you Brother.

I've been a fan for twenty years; seen him in concert twice. Always soothing, inspiring, humorous, philosophical... even the humor is philosophical. He's a keeper.

Not sure why fans of Canada's David (the rocker) feel a need to trash America's David (the balladeer). The haters remind me of kids I grew up with who claimed that Grand Funk Railroad had deeper lyrics than Bob Dylan or Paul Simon

I soooooo want a DWLE guitar!!...saved for it , went to purchase, discontiued!!....I can't see spending the thousands for a Taylor and iknow that it is going to be all out of whack every other week in SW Florida....the DWLE has every MOD needed to play low open tunings from the high ratio tuners, the placement of the 6th string peg hole, neck that cant move, plays easy, sounds incredible ..even plugged in as there is every system available on board.....Love your music....love your guitar.....please is there anywhere i can find one?...10 spinal surgeries has left me alone in a house.....this guitar would literally be my best friend.
@climberbob18 жыл бұрын
you don't need a special guitar to do alternate tunings. I've never heard of the DWLE, and play much of his material on regular acoustics. it's a coincidence I've got a Rainsong Graphite (Dreadnaught), where it looks here like he's playing a jumbo. As far as I know, the only 'special' thing he does other than the tunigs, is he cuts gaps in capos and I've seen him play with two capos on, and he'll play above, below, and inbetween. but you could make those capos with a simple blade to cut the pad out. effects you can always dial in, but I think his material sounds just FINE with a clean acoustic sound.
@rickthaler8 жыл бұрын
i have the same capos that David uses....The rainsong itself is a big help in playing alternate tunings due to the stability of the neck....David's model has no truss rod as the neck does not move.....the mod's tht are most helpful are especially when playing very low tuningd are#1- the bridge string pegs are placed further away from saddle(particularly the 6th string and because there is no grain (not wood) they can be placed straight with no worries of splitting...it also helps the string not "flap" o9r rattle" when tuned so loose as there is more tension on the string...#2- the tuning machines are a higher ratio so that smaller adjustments can be made,...again with a low low tunings on bass strings some guitars it's immposible to be in tune...the rest is in the electronics....it has every combo, in hole mic, piezo, humbucker, etc so you dont have the limitations that each systtem on it's own. at this point i would go with any rainsong that is comfortable as living in Florida i refuse to pay $3,000 or more for a Taylor or Martin, or any wood guitar as the weather is brutally unstable and guitars play different (drqastically) day to day unless you have a climate room, which i can not afford both the room and the guitar...I have a wonderfull sounding Martin XD28 but i rarely play it as it is almost always in need of an adjustment...pain in the ballz...nice to hear good feedback on your rainsong..thank you!!!
@climberbob18 жыл бұрын
yeah, the rains on is nice, but alternate tunings work just jine on my D41 and takamine "lawsuit ", not to mention my Veil letter Gryphon. don't get so hung up on the guitar as much as your playing ;-)

Damn, David you never cease to amaze. Still channelling Mark Twain, even after all these years. Here is the link to that tear inducing Dylan Orchestral performance, of which you spoke. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpKrq56KabZ7fKs "and they're breaking down the distance between right and wrong" Highly emotive to say the least. Keep up the awesome work.

He is?! WTF?! I had to check this guy out because i just discovered Canadian David and he kicks ass. This guy blows.....
@tom1600x10508 жыл бұрын
The Canadian David Wilcox is rock-blues with borderline vulgar lyrics and innuendo like 'layin pipe', and for people who like that sort of thing, all power to you. I like the American David Wilcox best.
@sixystyle8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm vulgar, more like an American. LOL I'm only about 6 mi from the Canadian border though and they have lots better radio stations :)

@allastarsevan33637 жыл бұрын
But, unfortunately, you're geo-location doesn't impact your vulgarity. WTF?! Kicking "ass"? It's a matter of perspective. The American probably appreciates his Canadian counterpart, as I do. But, I find it strange that one must be good while the other "blows."
