I once heard a preacher say, "The Bible never says anything about backsliding." That man doesn't know his Bible! The Scriptures speak much about backsliding, because it is a very serious matter - with very severe consequences!
In reading the history of Israel and Judah, we see one generation after another backsliding against the Lord. God told Hosea, "My people are bent to backsliding from me..." (Hosea 11:7). In Hebrew, the meaning is, "My people are in the habit of turning their backs and withdrawing from me. They've always had this tendency!"
And Jeremiah's frequent heart-cry was: "Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married to you..." (Jeremiah 3:14). "O Lord...our iniquities testify against us...for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee" (14:7). "(Jerusalem's) transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased" (5:6).
The term backsliding means, simply, "turning one's back on God." Ironically, God's people backslid mostly after times of great blessing and prosperity. Often, when God poured out incredible mercies on Israel, the people soon turned away from him.
"How shall I pardon thee for this? Thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods; when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery...The house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the Lord" (verses 7, 11). The Lord is saying here, "I blessed them, I favored them. And now they've turned their backs on me!"
In this passage, Jeremiah describes exactly who a backslider is. First, a backslider is someone who once enjoyed the blessings and favor of God. He walked before the Lord with a devoted, humble, kind heart. He loved praying and digging into God's word. He vowed, "I will serve the Lord always, with all my heart." And for a while he did seek the Lord faithfully. He forsook his wicked ways and delighted in the fellowship he found with other saints in God's house.
But then something began to draw this believer's heart away from the Lord. He no longer had genuine love. Instead, rebellion crept in. Soon he lost both the love and fear of God. He no longer trembled in the Lord's presence. His heart slowly grew cold.
"I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?" (verse 21). The Lord is saying, "How could you have turned away from me, when I planted you and tried to establish you? Yet, you turned and walked away!"

I backslid. I’ve been in spiritual warfare for months now trying to get back to the Lord. Praying and fasting. The Lord has been delivering me but just Don’t backslide it’s not worth it. It’s spiritually draining and I’ve been feeling like I’ve been fighting for my soul. Just walk with YHWH continually, this world has nothing to offer you. YHWH is everything in the name of Yeshua. Have you completely forgot the Son Of God becoming sin on a cross ( who let’s not forget is one with God, who breathed the breath of life in your lungs ) and facing a separation from God appointed for US? And do you dare even deny, and call it a lie the Word of God? ( the Word that is with God and is God) when he says if you confess your sins he is just and faithful to forgive? What ever it is in you that wants to deny that truth, you have to fight it with God and the Holy spirt ( who you can ask God to receive ) and all the strength that God gives to you. Note this my friend. I won’t judge your situation, but when the devil condemns you he condemns so that there is no way out, and even if you return God has got his eye on you. But you know what the Lord says? ( or more clearly how he would approach you ) He says you’ve sinned ( very clearly ). Now come back. Run back to me. Cry out and come back. And he will be there to run back to you. Fight the one that says “ there is no hope”. Cause you know who is hope? Jesus Christ. And he is alive. Now, backsliding friend. Seek God with all you heart. Like your life depends on it ( cause it does ). Don’t know how? I can help, and so can many Christians I’ll point you too. And I know God’s wrath is scary. But his mercy becomes all the more sweeter when you know that. Love is the answer. And God is love. Repent. Don’t know how? I can point you to where you can go. You want peace? Seek repentance and you’ll find peace. You know what is keeping you away from God? You. So die to self. And run to God. As long as you’re alive and breathing. There is hope. There is Jesus. Trust me the only time there is no hope is in death and hell. And this life cannot compare to hell. Trust me. You need Bible verses? The truth of God? I’m young but I can show you. I don’t know you my friend. But I say this in the most loving way I can. God loves you. Explain your situation to me ( of course in prayer to God first ), and guess who will be there to help? God. And if you every need it, me too. And a whole community of Christians. God bless

Thank you for posting this sermon 🙏. Backsliding usually starts with lack of prayer life and Bible reading. Sin slowly starts to creep in. Lord Jesus please help us to walk in victory over sin ❤️🙏. Joshua 1:8 (KJV) says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

I have backslidden horribly, and I prayed and asked God if it’s too late because I felt absolutely condemned and heard a “YES” as in its too late in my head, yet I still have some hope that he is breaking me completely over what I’ve done to bring me back up so that I’ll never do this again. I’m just still scared because idk if it was my own anxious heart and mind speaking to me when I asked God or if it was really Him, because if it was really Him I know He doesn’t lie. I’ve backslidden in an extreme way and rejected the correction he’s tried to give me by ignoring it thinking I can always repent later which is a lie from the enemy straight up. This is very true every word! I can testify to this unfortunately. I went to a church God warned me from not to go in 2018. I followed my own evil desires and was enticed by this. Great storm began. Praise The Lord He saved me!!

@@LR354- Not long from the moment I went till the storm. The Lord warned me with act 26, but when I went and things start to become difficult I forgot the warning. When it went very bad in a few weeks and even start to loose my cargo, remembering the Word of God things Jesus teaches me at some day I screamed it out in my spirit to Jesus begging Him to show me what was going on. And then He led me to acts 26 again and showed me everything I went through was the same (only now spiritual) He remembered me the warning and I repented. After The Lord’s forgiveness the storm lasted a little longer but now I had hope in the storm like Paul and the rest of the people on the ship after Paul received confirmation from God they all should survive. Praise God forever! 🙏

I back slid very hard the past few months. I was born again on October 22nd 2019. I was delivered from my lifestyle of homosexuality. And so much more... Praise Jesus! Thing is, I was such an immature child of God that I didn't even know it was God trying to turn me around. Oh my gosh I went through so much. Praise God though. I turned back to him while in prison. Prison was my bottom.

I'm sorry for not responding sooner. I wanted to pray on it and ask the holy spirit for the words. I am still overcoming several things. Seek God with all your heart. Pray throughout the day and read his word daily. He promises to come to you when we do this. Letting go of the word was my biggest mistake. The world swallowed me up so fast. The fact you were on here watching this video says to me God is drawing you back. He's calling you. Answer it brother. Return to your first love. Return to doing the things you did when you were first saved. Repent!!! Repent from all the sin you are making choices to do. Turn away from it all and turn it all to God. Brothers & sisters, I have an URGENT prayer request, if God moves on your heart about it. There is a man named Chris who is in prison for doing some unimaginable violence some years ago. It’s caused agony in his heart. When he first got to prison, the devil taunted him tremendously through other inmates to commit suicide. The only book he had there was a bible, and he read it cover to cover. He began searching for God and sending bible verses to other inmates, and has had a growing desire over time to help the other inmates. I can see God working in his heart, but he still CAN’T forgive himself for what he did, and that is my prayer request: that the Lord will give him the grace to forgive himself that he be born again, and walk on the path of truth. If anyone is willing to pray for him CONTINUALLY, God bless you abundantly! Again, his name is Chris. Thank you and God bless you all! 🙏🏻❤️‍🔥

Has Chris heard the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ? Has he accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, confessed and repented of his sins and asking for Forgiveness? If he has, Jesus will begin a Good Work in Him making him a New Creature. Contact with a ministry would be very helpful to him, the prisons has visiting pastors and a minister on staff. You can bring him, which you are probably doing biblical messages from ministers who are proclaiming the Unadulterated Word of God. He is already sharing scriptures with the other inmates, very Good. Who Knows what Calling/Gifting the Lord has on Chris's. life. Prayer to the Father for Chris in Jesus Name. God Bless you for the love shown toward Chris, Never Give Up.➕🙏❤️.

Backsliding can also be caused by heavy spiritual warfare and spiritual attacks, disappointment etc, dream manipulation, evil alters. But essentially yes it’s not good to backslide I have fallen into this right now too unfortunately

I thought jesus would help through my situation I always believed he would cure my blindness yes I'm visually-impaired my name is sheela. What only happened was my disability got insulted and I'm still living in this 2-room house with my parents at 26 because they're too protective and controlling I had no freedom whatsoever. People always prosper but not me but still I'm in poverty the situation never changes I'm still treated as if I'm a child, and I got no assistance. So that's why I backslid not a pitty party why have faith in a miracle worker yet no miracle arrived, so this is where my faith remains, in the world.

Those on here who are backsliding better pull it together before you end up like a reprobate like me. You always think you have more time. You actually don’t. Eternal hell is not worth your crappy assed short lived sin. Take it from someone who knows. I used to think holding from temptation was hard. Looking back it was EASY. You think it’s hard until you land here, where there is no more hope for your soul. I am in utter torment. It is the worst suffering possible on earth, I know other reprobates and we’re spiritually dead on the tip of hell. And we know what’s waiting for us - but at the same time we can never comprehend eternal hell. Seriously, stop sinning you guys. Learn from me. The torment of living as a reprobate in just one day is more torment than I’ve experienced in my entire life altogether. And this isn’t even the beginning.

I saw my ex-abuser ex-husband's eyes turn red when he was sitting on my chest while he was beating me up. He was punching my face on both sides and I was in shock when I saw his eyes turn red.
