Kudos to the man running that hotel. It's good to finally hear of someone taking care of people during a disaster. You don't hear much of that anymore these days. So a big kudos to this hotel manager for taking such good care of these people. Awesome credit to him as well David. Thank you for your dedication to bringing us this video. Our prayers are with you and all of Texas effected by this.

Thanks for this. My family & friends are in the greater Houston area so it's good to know from a reliable source what it's like for visitors. I'm glad that my brother & I, who both grew up there, are safe living in the beautiful PNW where all we have to fear is an earthquake: The Big One! No hurricanes though. Just rain from Oct-March, but who's complaining? Keeping Texans in my heart. Wishing all a safe, relatively dry week without the need for heroics.

To David and the like of others pursuing this type of endeavor: This is very gallant and intrepid of you. Just as one would venture overseas to fight for the military. Woe betide you when the foreseen circumstances overwhelm you. When you're spiritually extricated from danger and despair, to whom do you give thanks to? Yes. In the end, it's all about HIM and very little of you. Blessings.

Thank you, KXAN, for covering Rockport. Too bad the hurricane shelter in Austin had no TV on which all of us from the Rockport area could see what was happening. By the next day and many days after, all the news was about the flooding in Houston and elsewhere. We got most of our news from people who went back the day after the storm to see their houses (if any were still there), and took photos and videos before returning to Austin. I don't know if any news reports showed all the dead cows lining the highway, some of which may have come all the way from the pasture land on the barrier island and maybe were dropped on highway 35 by tornadoes. I don't know where they originated but wasn't used to seeing a lot of those kinds of cattle near town. Much of the highway adjoins huge, unfenced cotton fields, not cattle ranches. In a fenced area along the highway, the fences were not broken but were choked with storm surge debris and the utility poles were mostly snapped off or leaning precariously. The dead cows did not come from unfenced cotton fields or escape through undamaged barbed wire fences. Most of the cows seemed to be big, sleek, fat, healthy (but dead) red Angus types, based on the photos.

Not sure why they think that because that ceiling tile was on the floor, that this translates that there is a broken window SOMEWHERE in the building? You will notice that where that ceiling tile was down was literally right next to a exterior door. Meaning that when they open it, it will be very windy right there. Now if a window is broken then there will likely be ceiling tiles down in the immediate vicinity. But not somewhere across the entire building. Unless of course it's really powerful, in which case there would be way more than just the random tile on the floor.

We learn at a young age in Florida that when a window lets the wind in, pressure increases and the wind across thee roof makes it act like an airplane wing lifting it. There goes the roof. When a window breaks, or a door opens, you have to open one on the other side to save the roof. Wind blowing thru the house in that case is bad, but better than really bad.

🔊Salvation Prayer Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I pray that you will forgive me for all of my sins, that you will come into my heart and be my Lord, the savior of my life. I confess that you died on the cross to save me from my sins and I am committed to turning away from those sins. I ask that you fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can be born again. I ask that you give me the strength and abundant faith to overcome any and all attacks by the enemy, including my desire to sin so that I may serve you completely. I pray that you will give me discernment so that I may know all things that are truth, and the knowledge acquired from reading your Word. Use me this day as I am a willing vessel Lord, in leading others to your kingdom. ⏳In the name of our almighty heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen Halleluyah 🌷👀🌷👣❤🎶🎺❤ JOHN 3:16

Who the hell are these "storm chasers"? Opening doors or windows compromise the structure. How come these "storm chasers" don't know that? 🤷🏽♂️
@cve86867 жыл бұрын
Jeska Doy opening a door is not compromising a structure. Doors themselves are weak points in any building along with Windows, vents, and anything that is not solid. Storm chasers are storm crews that go into the worst parts if storm to collect data on weather patterns and on the individual storms themselves
@kylezaruba94977 жыл бұрын
These "storm chasers" are being incredibly brave and throwing themselves into the middle of the worst storms so they can collect data that will hopefully help save lives in the future. They know what they are doing, they wouldn't go into the middle of a storm of their own will if they didn't have the training for it.
@Melody6151999997 жыл бұрын
"compromise the structure"? Somebody compromised your brain obviously.
@yodieyuh7 жыл бұрын
It will pop the windows on the opposite side of a small building. I broke two windows in my front room by opening my back door during Jeanne. Technically that could count. Guy doesn't seem like an actual storm chaser though, just a local news field anchor or something.
@kylezaruba94977 жыл бұрын
1. The guy in the video is obviously not a storm chaser, he's a fucking new reporter and the storm chasers we are talking about are the ones who opened the back door to go onto the balcony where the storm was hitting. 2. The reporter only opened a back door to a balcony in the hotel. The hurricane wasn't hitting that part of the building so it was safe to open. 3. There were two sets of doors to the outside (specifically designed in case of a hurricane) so if one was opened then the entire building wouldn't be flooded by water and wind.

Hurricanes, while having a huge destructive force and are a very bad thing for everyone involved sure are fascinating. On one hand i'm glad switzerlands geographical location does not allow for any hurricanes, on the other hand, i'm kinda sad as well. I love the atmosphere when a thunderstorm passes by, a hurricane would be even more intriguing
