I think of it was permanent it would fall under being graffiti. Just because a piece of graffiti is good doesn't mean it doesn't count as vadalism in the eyes of the state. He'd prob get some legal issues eventually if they were permanent....that being said I wish they were permanent...or at least last longer. But it's kinda like baking art, you make a gorgeous cake, but at the end of the day it's a cake, you eat it. They last forever, if you document em through picture and video :)

What a joy to come upon something like this. During the pandemic, a neighbor, not an artist, took the time to chalk a simple hello and some flowers on our sidewalk. We have all been veering away from each other, only walking to get outside for a while, and that simple drawing made my day. 😁

My grandkids love this.. they wanted to see more... so I bought $300 of sidewalk chalk. And told them to show me what they can do.. my driveway looks so good. I park on my lawn... I can redo the grass next year. I got a very thin coat of clear driveway sealant to preserve the artwork on 120 x 30 sq ft asphalt drive . Should last till winter if I dont apply heavier coats..16 murals and the family name...my everlasting gratitude...thank you sir.. you took a full day of I'm bored and made a 3 day family arts and crafts event.. a memory for eternity.

@@MANBEARPIG248, maybe she's referring to some stencils made by Banksy. One of three Banksy stencils from 2003 destroyed in July 2016 by a newly constructed doorway in ACDC Lane. Heritage laneways remain largely unprotected by the Melbourne City Council, a situation highly advantageous to developers of new buildings in that area.
