It was really interesting noticing how he was essentially approaching drowning. There are very specific physiological symptoms that are present in someone who is starting to have that reaction- triggered by the feeling of failing to support yourself in water- that he was absolutely showing. Specifically when he attempted swimming in multiple layers, the way his voice had that panicked "cracking" and he was breathing very heavily. If this was the depth of a reservoir, and not a pool, you would definitely die.

It's because we imagine what's happening with us in such a situation. Head lower than the other body isnt comfortable, and the biggest problem is that you can't do anything to change it. I think the thing to acknowledge that he didn't totally get into is how our bodies are mostly water and we're relatively close to the same amount of bouyancy until we breathe in. But, being only partially filled with water, the shade balls are less dense than humans. So if there's enough of them, they will float above you, making it not only difficult to swim as a solid barrier, but even in trying to get ones head high enough to breathe safely. DONT SWIM IN SHADEBALLS
@flydrop88223 жыл бұрын
I think it is safe if your pool is shallow enough
@FrancisR4203 жыл бұрын
Also he brings up the fact that about a third of it is filled with water so the no matter how many of them they will lay about 2/3 above the water, so if you have three feet of shade balls somehow then one foot of them will be underwater and you will have to lift up that and two more feet of them in order to just breach the water, not even past the balls.

Thanks for the laughs tonight! I enjoy these nerdy videos and explanations, and I was also mesmerized by the movement and behavior of the single layer of shade balls and the patterns on the pool floor. I do wonder how much jumping in on them or swimming through them hurt, especially with the butterfly stroke. I have the feeling I'd probably drown and/or get pulled out with massive bruising over my entire body, but I have chronic fatigue and health issues that mean I bruise easily. However, I still want to try jumping in, just once, and I want to see the patterns beneath the surface.

How much do they weigh? whats the average density of the whole system balls+water assuning, that the depth of the pool is 2m? How would all all of that change, if the pool was a perfect circle? How would it change, if the depth of the circle shaped pool would be proportional to the distance to the center? What if his pool is a semisphere? What if he is so massive, that the water curves around him? (assume him beimg in the center of the semisphere and him having a mass of 10^20Kg) Also assume him to be spherical with a radius of 1m

I mean that's probably the right instinctive reaction to have (and one I'd hope animals tend to have as well). After seeing how hard it was to swim in, you can imagine that even a strong swimmer might have a hard time making it back to shore from any meaningful distance out in that resevoir.

Liquid Breakfast even if there is no big “leak” there with still be some oil and whatnot that isn’t perfectly contained, which is why the motor with be oily and black in places when you open it up. _Edit: as it turns out, there is still the problem of the outboard motor's exhaust gas._ If the boat is clean before entering and contact of the boat with anything else is kept to a minimum, it's definitely worth it to have a means of navigating the reservoir. If they worry about sunlight, I imagine they want little else to enter (edit: i. e. they'd probably like to remove stuff that got into the reservoir).
@Spinnin8003 жыл бұрын

@Saymon103 жыл бұрын
@@xCorvus7x No, that dosen't matter. The main problem is that a combustion engine from the boat will release all of it's fumes into the water, so it makes no sense that they are riding that on drinking water, but a human taking a bath is not allowed. Neither should be allowed, but the boat with it's combustion engine, seems especially bad to me, at least use a electric motor
@xCorvus7x3 жыл бұрын
@@Saymon10 Are you sure that's a combustion engine? And why would the exhaust be funneled into the water? Exhaust fumes are given off into the air, to contaminate the water they'd have to diffuse into the water (through the layer of balls). Especially with a breeze, the amount of exhaust getting into the water should be minimal.

@MrDuck-po3wy4 жыл бұрын
@@shahulrahim4039 No. A boat is more cleaner because it can be sanitized. a human sweats, sweat has bacteria. A human also has genitals, no one except perverts wants to drink water that was touched by a penis. A human also have an anus, if your drinking water gets contaminated by fecal bacteria it can cause diseases, like E. Coli. A boat is just Solid Material, think of it like a spoon, they're clean and can be washed and don't spew out biological fluids. A human has holes and biological fluids, infact our skin basically has millions of tiny holes on them that spews out sweat. The big holes on our bodies (7 not including tear sacs, and the Vagina) also spews out biological fluids, like Sperm, Urine, Feces, Vomit, Saliva, Nasal Mucuses, Anal Mucuses, and many more, there's also the internal stuff that usually doesn't come out normally like blood or Stomach acid. If a person wears an air tight diving suit it's still as the same as a boat, it doesn't spews out any bodily fluids. Edit: also Humans have AIDS and HIV. AIDs and HIV can be transmitted through infected blood and we don't have a cure for them yet.
