Good video. I will have to agree with folks who choose a backpack over the single strap haversack for comfort and load distribution. As far as tins for making char-cloth, I poke the hole on the side through the lid and main tin. Just by rotating the lid, you can either open the hole or close it. This allows you to seal the tin better against water than a hole in the top. As always a great video.

Real looking forward to the Lau shelter video. Does the outfitters shop have a UK partner? I saw some of your range on scamazon UK but sold out and no date for a restock. If you don't have another video before Christmas I wish you a merry and peaceful Christmas for you and your family and staff. Mike

I don't think FLINT & STEEL will ever go out of style , if it does SHAME ON US . Still my favorite way to get my fires going . P.S. , IRON PYRITE (Fools Gold) also makes good hot sparks because of the sulfur . I carry one of each . Have you ever used it ? GREAT VIDEO ! 😁😁😁

One of the beautiful things about Flint And Steel fire making is you can take them on an aeroplane. I wear my Wilderness Outfitters Arrowhead fire making tool on a leather lanyard with Vietnam service beads (in honour of my Dad and uncles who studied at Vietnam University instead of college) and the key to my cabin. It went into basket before I boarded and nobody asked questions. Granted, it would make a presentable sap on some poor bastards neck but they didn't mind.

How about the Horseshoe bedroll system. I've seen you do some incredible things. I want to plan a winter tarp & hammock trip, & was wondering how you might fix a horseshoe bed/blanket roll. I'll be using a osni cloak & HD poncho/hammock, USMC LBV, CLS Mother Canteen Carrier, & G2 gear roll with USMC Butt Pack vs. Haversack. I'm interested in your take on this. See you next time.

Proof is in the mail. Good vid. Always carry most all the same items either on my body or in a bag. A messenger bag works well if you can carry it under your arm or slung over your back. I wear bib overalls, Liberty;s or quality BDU's with plenty of pockets and strong belt loops. I have all I need right at hand. Old band aid tins, Altoid mints box other items like that make good flint and tender boxes. Look around at yard sales or flea markets. They are there. PA can. I really like the wax cotton. Several places make items in the UK. Now, fellow channels, Swed Woods and Age of the North, Cimbrer Bushcraft do some serious camping with the Lavue. Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Have several buds from Norway as well. These do traditional survival wild camps year around. All good from down in east Kentucky USA Happy Holidays to you and family/friends.

One thing I have found with a vest with lots of pockets and stuff in those pockets is that it makes the straps of a pack almost painful. The pack straps pushing the things in the vest pockets into my body.
