As always an envious EDC. Love it. All I can think of is maybe: Compass, mirror, emergency space blanket (I hear the desert can get very cold at night), and maybe a monocular for spotting things long distance? And maybe just for fun...a slingshot with ball bearings incase you want to hunt small game without making a lot of noise. :-)

Lots of good stuff! I know you enjoy making short films, and after seeing those suspenders and old west pics, I’m thinking you should shoot a western.

Looks like you've got it together. The only thing I thought was missing was a ground pad or tarp. I live in Alaska and our ground is always cold and wet.

I've been wearing suspenders for over 25 years James. I had a hernia operation in 98 and that's where they became a must have for me. Plus I can't stand pulling my pants up every 2 minutes either. They look good on you though and I were them with a belt also. I've been wearing the Carhartt and Dickies suspenders for decades, but I'll have to look in to those Redheads.

I'm an old lawman and have worn braces as we call them in the West for decades and still do with a belt. Yes my EDC demands some extra support. Your load out is good for your area up north it is a mite different but all good. Have a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas James, Cuervo and families. As I've said before, EDC is subjective depending on many things. Your EDC is a good fit for you or anybody venturing out in the wild for a short time. EDC for most people though is a cell phone and car keys, little do they know. Nice film as always, well done, thanks.

Happy holidays, kids: from an old school uncle- poncho liner, space blanket tarp, a bunch of hand warmers for the sleeping bags, 2 quart pot. A tin can stove or charcoal starter. I let you guys think about the uses in the Winter 🥶. I’m recovering from a hospital procedure. Merry Christmas and do a short 🎄🎄🎄

You should do a video sometime about what you keep in your truck for emergencies My mother drove an hour to work everyday. The winters can get pretty cold and icy. So my dad made sure she had a bunch of winter stuff in the back seat rather than the trunk of her car. She always had a really nice sleeping bag and made sure she had a half tank of gas at all times.

Depending on the forecast, you might want to add gloves, a wool watch cap and/or a scarf. I can't stand jackets and coats with hoods attached, they're usually bulky and just get in the way, so I chose to carry a scarf and a wool watch cap.

Hey James I also use suspenders especially if I’m carrying. Mine don’t snap on my pants: mine are made by Perry Products and they have plastic hooks made to hook over a tough leather belt. Mine work great with my Crossbreed Holster leather belt.

I had stopped carrying my Leatherman Wave once I got into Swiss Army Knives, but I really missed having pilers. I tried a Gerber Dime and it’s cute (much like your squirt) the pliers aren’t that robust. I find the SOG PowerPint to be the perfect compromise.

Those rechargeable coats are nice. I started using one while deer hunting. It uses rechargeable drill batteries i cant remember what brand (the red tools) I have been using it while nightfishing in the fall Right now most of the smaller and shallower lakes are covered in ice around here and we just had a little 1/4" of snow last night. It was close to zero degrees last week and its been about thirty for the high this week

Always carry water, not just to drink but to flush eyes or clean a wound. I always carry on my person two flashlights and two knives. I’ve carried a pocket knife and handkerchief/bandana since grade school. The handkerchief after once in school I sneezed, snot everywhere and very embarrassing. My dad always said “a gentleman always carries a handkerchief” sound advice.

Over time, your lifestyle and personal taste will determine the look that is you. Fashionistas do nothing but spend all their time in front of a mirror. Whether you look like a stormtrooper or a conquistador, it is due to the life decisions you have made. It is a reflection of the evolution of your life.
