Fantastic. Awesome stuff. I have 6 of these. Personally I like the neck of the P10, but I keep going back to the V5. I might swap the necks so I get the best of both. You should post this on /r/SireGuitars on Reddit btw. :)

Sire P10 DX because it seems (to my hearing) to always respond to the full spectrum. Others may have their niche, yet with only one to choose, to reach every genre that fellow musicians propose it seems to offer the best service. What do you think David?

First of all this is incredibly helpful and you did an amazing job skipping the BS and demonstrating the differences in the way these basses sound. That being said the V3P sounds DAMN NICE for the price. What a steal.

Great demo! It’s good to hear more playing and less talking to help get straight to business! 💪🏾 They all sound great, but the consumer has to consider the strings as well. Knowing the character of the strings I use will help me to make a better decision on the bass. I have a few V7 basses (1st and 2nd gen standard and vintage),and I got a 5 string V8 back in mid December! I’m playing that the most right now!

Interesting to hear the strengths and weaknesses in the different styles. That P7 surprised me the most. The V8 initially let me down and wasn’t as exciting as I hoped but it didn’t do anything badly and sat in mix in a very consistent way.

When you get the strobe and tension just right it eliminates the little sensitive mistakes. Especially if you're playing heavy handed. Fretting mostly on the fingertips. They're not fat fret fenders and it will make you a better player.

There are differences but not enough in the JJ/PJ to justify a new model. My guess is Sire adds different appointments to draw in different customers. You could barely grab 2 years different MIM fenders and get this kind of consistency. Good on Sire but it’s a lot to understand coming to a brand. V7 V8 V10 P10 M7. 🤷🏼♂️
@pjmuck Жыл бұрын
Fantastic comparison, thanks. I'm assuming we only heard the active basses in passive mode, tone and volume fully up? Sire makes amazing basses for the $. My main gigging bass is a V7 vintage ash body/maple neck model. This demo pretty much confirms my overall personal preferences. I don't really like the PJ setup when both PUPSs are engaged and slapped. Never have. And I'm not really digging the M7 tones either. But the beauty of the Sire preamp is you really can dial in a huge variety of sounds. I can get very very close to a P bass with my V7 by dialing in adjustments to the mids in active mode.

I had my eyes on the V5, because it isn't that much more money from a V3. But hearing this, i like the sound of the V3 a lot better most of the times. The V5 is a little bit too "polite" here and there. But then there is the V7 Vintage... damn! Yes, it cost more, but that sound is so spine tingling. It has that midrange "growl" you get from a P-Bass but overall sounds sweeter than the P7/8. Yeah, i'm getting one of those!
