I love this song and I must say that this is by far the best version I have heard yet and I have listened to them all, Christy Moore included and I keep coming back to this one. Thank you for this beautiful rendition.......

Wow That’s a brilliant musical interpretation of a gorgeous poem. Well done. I went out to to hazel wood myself a few times recently

Gorgeous! I also frequently turn my poems into songs, and it is magical when the music just bursts forth as if it was meant to be, thank you for sharing this.

I'm a great Yeats fan, and this in particular. I've heard this attempted by lots of singers, but it always seems to escape them, but not this time. David Mullen has captured it in song. Well done.

I would like to hear a chinese version of this romantic poem and song:

The golden apples of the sun figure "the garden of the Hesperides" and much less known the "trout" is linked to the salmon. It means that it is the "knowledge" and "man in the integrity of his being " (Tuân Mac Cairill Ireland). Liban, a lady responsible of the inondation of Lough Neagh changed herself and became a salmon. She is fished by Saint Congall. She has baptism, is named Muirgen (Morgane/born from the sea) and she dies. She is the Mary-Morgane of many popular stories. Well done !
