That piece that broke, you can try fiberglass cloth and resin on the back along with the superglue to give it more strength, or maybe JB-weld? just making suggestions don't know if they are the best options.Cheers

Heya Rob. I've got these fiberglass patches that I've used on cars before. I actually already put it on the cracks, but didn't show it in the video. It worked really well...

@@DavidFixesHisShit I also have used the fiberglass cloth before on plastic items and it does work good. Good thing that you already knew about it. Cheers

Where do you get your decals from? I haven't been able to find the right size decals for my Indian. The size I need for the fuel tank is 3in X 7in (3in being the largest letter, the "I")all I have found is two inch.
@lawrenceveinotte5 жыл бұрын
you could try taking the plastic to an auto body shop and see is they can weld it.

Heya Lawrence. I didn't show it in the video, but I did put some fiberglass backers on both of the cracks. They turned out pretty well, but I'll keep this advice in my back pocket for the next build :-)

Did you use soapy water on the edge of the tires? it makes them go on easier, I have also seen another youtuber use WD-40 to make the slide easier into the wheel.
@FrankyieFrank5 жыл бұрын
I use Vaseline. It is some kind of grease for your hands. I have motorcycle tyres (rated at 160km/h) on my mopeds which are way more difficult to put on the rim than normal moped tyres. I have no problems mounting these tyres nowadays. I do use brute force but only with my hands. No tools used because the can damage the fragile rims. !WARNING! Always remove the grease on the tyres after your done mounting them on the rim! Your rim will start to slip inside the tyre if you leave any type of grease or oil in there. Clean them thoroughly.
@SDsailor75 жыл бұрын
@@FrankyieFrank Did not know about using vaseline. I guess whatever works and makes the procedure a little easier is good. Cheers
@FrankyieFrank5 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure vaseline is the best possible stuff for the job. I have been doing it for years without any problems. You have to use the acid free version. Be aware, soap might cause corrosion and rubber and WD40 are not always compatible with each other. I my opinion vaseline is the best of the three solutions mentioned.
@SDsailor75 жыл бұрын
@@FrankyieFrank Yes that is possible with the soappy water, you just got to be careful and not use to much. I agree about the wd-40 not being compatible. But isn't vaseline petroleum jelly i think it says that on the label.

Do all moped forks have grease? or are there some makes that have oil in them?I have an extra Indian moped minus the motor and the forks are leaking, there is black grease/oil all the way down to the wheel. Anyone know?Thank you

I would like to remove them and clean and hopefully restore the forks, maybe they will need new seals?

If you're going to stick with the stock cylinder you should look into porting it. You can make them do 45+ on e50's. There's a tutorial on youtube to show you how to do it really easy.

What did you use to make tour chrome shine like that? My fenders are looking rough.

Ultra fine steel wool. I’m always amazed by how that shines up chrome.

I have those same "Dr . Roc's" tire irons, 3 for $20 on amazon. Best tire irons i've ever used. Helpful tip, when you're levering the new tires on, the sticky new rubber beads will want to grab the iron and not slide off onto the rim, some dawn dish soap will help em slide right on and will not harm the rubber.
@DavidFixesHisShit5 жыл бұрын
Hey man. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it next time. Those things were a bitch! I do like those tire irons though. Its nice to have that big handle to grab and leverage those things in...
@brandon20765 жыл бұрын
@@DavidFixesHisShit yep! The kit I got came with a bunch of accessories too. By the way, when you seated the new sealed bearings, did you check to see if the inner races were binding? If you hammer the bearings too far in, even though they have a lip to stop the outer race from going in too far, the inner races bind each other up against the spacer. The bearings should be hammered in carefully, just enough so that the spacer has virtually no free space, but not further. If you take your finger and spin one inner race, there should be enough friction for the spacer to spin the other bearing's inner race. But, not so much friction... you should also be able to take 2 fingers and spin the inner races in opposite directions. If the bearings are hammered in too tight, they will bind. If they're not hammered in enough, they will bind up severely when the axle nuts are tightened. It's a fine line lol.
@SDsailor75 жыл бұрын
@@brandon2076 Does this apply to all wheels or only to this model? Cheers

Hey David good evening from the north east, I have a question regarding my friend’s motobecane 50v the carb is adjusted to the max and it hardly stays at idle any ideas? Thanks in advance.
@DavidFixesHisShit5 жыл бұрын
My initial guess would be that there is an air leak somewhere. Spray carb cleaner around and see if you notice a difference in RPMs. O
@miguelpagansr61285 жыл бұрын
David Fixes His Shit thanks David for the insight, I realized that the carb came with a 68 jet and I’ve been doing some fine tuning on the carb and I put a 78 jet this morning, still have to test ride it and is also using the stock filter and the timing is at 1.2 mm BTDC not sure whether to leave it or have it at 1.5 BTDC. I’ll keep you posted, looking forward to your next video.

Ohh. I thought it was the stock Gurtner. Is he running a Dellorto? 14 or 15. If the cylinder is stock, 78 sounds strong to me. I would have thought it would be in the 60-65 range. If there’s a kit on it or it’s ported, than 78 might be right. I’m running a 74 jet on my 74cc kit.
@miguelpagansr61285 жыл бұрын
David Fixes His Shit oh no sir, this has an airsal 70cc kit Doppler exhaust and a Dellorto 15 and stock variator for now. Thanks a lot for your time I’m excited to start on my Peugeot 103. Good luck finding the Peugeot TSM, they’re hard to find in original condition. Most are modified to hell.
