Very comforting message. I just heard another Pastor speak about Psalm 34:7 how he knew that God's angels were watching over him. Therefore I looked up your devotion on Psalm 34 because you do such a great job of explaining these things. I'm facing several challenges as we speak, one being the pulling of my remaining teeth for dentures and I'm afraid and feeling severe loneliness and now I'm ready, I feel confident that Jesus and his angels will be with me today. Many thanks pastor Guzik.

Thank you David…. . Thank you for showing Jesus in Psalm 34. Once again thank you. I am able to trust in the Lord with all my heart through my experiences with Him. I once experienced God’s tears in a sudden downfall of torrential rain while in traffic when I was near a funeral home service as I questioned God with tears in my eyes and somehow I instantly knew that the departed was being given all kind of earthly accolades, and I was given the sense that his soul wasn’t saved. The downpour stopped traffic and as our Heavenly Father calmed my anxiety I felt His pain. This is very true…it was truly amazing.

39:10 + love the reminder of David's rag-tag crew he is speaking this Psalm to. In 1 Samuel 22:2, "And everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was bitter in soul, gathered to him. And he became commander over them. And there were with him about four hundred men." Thanks for pointing that out ❤

Two stories about this chapter. First: The first time I read 16- I thought when I took my 3 year old son to a public park with a lot of other families. I watched him the best I could and watched the mean kids too. With all that noise of the kids there were times I would loose track of my son. But even through all the other kid's talking and playing, I could still hear when I heard my son call out "dad, dad." Second story, I was at a wave pool at some amusement park with my other son. I knew as long as he stayed there he would be safe. So I got out and went over to the front where the crosswalk is, thinking i could watch him from above. Well when I got to the middle I was surprised to see how many people were actually in the giant wave pool! I thought, " how am I going to find Garrett?" Once again the noise of people was more like just noise. Then all of a sudden I hear "dad, dad!" I heard his voice among all the other voices and eventually was able to find him. God hears our distinct voice and He is ear is attentive to our cries. Amazing

I previously taught this Psalm when we taught the book of Psalms and gained a lot from it myself. I also heard this Psalm in the sermon at church today and love to revisit your commentary tonight.

@david Guzik Yes, praising God. A sincere and genuine question, please. I'm following you through each Psalm, one each day, and this has come up a few times but overtly in this Psalm 34. In v 17, 'delivers them from all their troubles' v19, ' delivers him from them all' and many examples of God's promises to deliver, but this doesn't always happen eg. Stephen in the NT. Many believers are not delivered. Yes, they may know God presence, peace and it is no doubt the best in God's eternal purpose but I don't understand and would love to know. It is so hard to believe with head, not just heart, in faith, not understanding these promises throughout the Psalms. I'd be very grateful to know so I can know, understand and trust God more deeply. THANK YOU
