I rather like the table that the teapot is displayed on. Out of the choices, the clock.

Either the teapot or the clock, I like them both.

The grandmother clock for me 😊

Since I have a teapot almost identical to the one in the video, I selected it, as it's one of my favorite items in my home. The bamboo brush pot would be my second choice.

I love the box. It looks like it has everything.

I love the vanity box. Just gorgeous - and complete. I paid a fortune for a gentleman's travelling vanity case - it is as big as a suitcase and filled with delicious items. I am not sure why people are rejecting 'yesterday's antiques' in favour of iffy mcm (50's-70's) junk.
@paulgardiner53986 ай бұрын
In a 100 or so years who will appreciate the mcm stuff? But the proper antiques will always be things of beauty and craftsmanship.

I quite like the look of the dancing lady to the left of the clock. No idea wether it’s of any quality or value from here 😂. But it caught my eye. 👍😎. The box at the end out of those you chose is the one I would pick.

Hello David, can you tell me anything about the pair of vases to the left of the long case clock? They are on the table beside what looks like an art deco statue and a tea kettle. Although they are in the background, they caught my eye. This video presents us with a wonderful format for learning about old and beautiful objects. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

I've got too much stuff to want any of these - but for display & decorative quality the teapot beats the rest

I liked the box - but I also thought that the teapot was beautiful.

I would have taken home the bamboo brush holder because I like to paint.

While I like the box, I have no use for such a thing. I agree the teapot is nice, but it just becomes a dust collector. The clock looks ugly to me. Perhaps it is too simple. So, I choose the bamboo paint pot. Great storage piece. I figured David would take the teapot.

The first image was that bronze of a dancer on a stone base. Spidey senses activate! DINGDINGDING THATONE! Unless it was reproduction I'm surprised it was bypassed. The clock doesn't make me scream. Brush pot - nice enough but kind of blah. 02:40 That little blue and white dish..dingding. Minor bells. Shipwreck porcelain? Bet someone bagged it before the day was out. I've never been fond of famille rose - grew up with some and never liked it. The rosewood dressing set was nice, but yesterday's antique. I don't want a box unless I can put stuff in it, and this one came full. Of the ones David picked, none of the above. None of them sang to me or even whistled. The dancer however was pretty well jumping up and down and using a bullhorn.

I agree with others who wanted the figurine to the left of the clock. It was lovely. I also liked the box, but wouldn’t have a use for it.

I would've picked the ladies vanity box cos it was the most intricate of the items.

I appreciate the box and seem to be drawn to objects like that but I think the teapot or the brush holder are more practical to display. Thank you for the videos. I'm really enjoying them. Mahalo.

I love the clock but it wouldn’t fit in our home, I like the teapot but the box! So complete and beautiful.

there's far more money to be made from stuff in charity shops than at big antiques fairs like these... too many canny lovejoys stalled-out to find any real bargains... the part-teapot appealed most to me but without research and a close-up examination of it i've no idea whether that price is good bad or indifferent...the materials used in the pot might also be hazardous to health... so maybe you wouldn't even get a half-decent cuppa out of it... interesting video... thanks for posting.

Should the teapot handle be bamboo? That put me off it. I would choose the bamboo for myself. The games are always great! Cheers!

David,owning and restoring a grand Victorian home I am filling it up with all things Victorian. The clock just doesn’t work for me, it looks to understated and the applied moldings make it look cheap. The ladies dresser box although very nice would be hidden away in a bedroom and never seen. It comes down to a toss up between the brush pot and the tea pot. If spotted at the start of the day (when flush with jingle in my pocket) the tea pot would be the choice. If spotted at the end of the day there would be less jingle in the pocket I would consider the brush pot.

I would definitely take the grandmother clock home. £95 is no money really.
@AnastasiaRomanov-w9x4 ай бұрын
I would prefer early 19th or 18th century for a grandfather clock. Of course that will never happen.
@DavidHarperAntiques4 ай бұрын
They’re very inexpensive to buy! I have a couple of videos here showing how inexpensive they are!
@AnastasiaRomanov-w9x4 ай бұрын
@@DavidHarperAntiques yes but you can find deals sometimes. I’ve collected early antiques since I was 18 and I’m 71 and I’ve found some great deals in my life on early pieces.

None......,,and the Chinese teapot , if in excellent condition is not worth that money, £20 to £40 at most.
@stephenholmes5362 Жыл бұрын
Agree, it was made to fit into a rattan basket that also had a space for two teacups! We call it a picnic set, very common .
