In this episode I finally start the Altezza after all the modification.
The ITBs, the Toda cams, the Apexi Exhaust all come together and produce an amazing sound.
BUT FIRST I need to screw myself over installing the accessories belts...

I've been planning to convert my tezza 3s with an ITB but I could never find any clear guides in Japanese before I stumble on your video. Clean and concise step guides which surprised me a lot seeing how the Japanese ones aren't super detailed in their explanations let alone a step by step guide. Just want to say a big thanks because this makes me want to do it now (planning to do a light flywheel and e/g t/m mount first though). You just earned yourself a new subscriber. I also got a hachiouji plate on my car which was surprising nonetheless. Cheers bro!

That hachioji number plate is a massive coincidence!! Thanks for watching and subscribing. yeah that's exactly the problem I had. I couldn't find any guides on how to do this which is why it's taking me so long and I've wasted so much time getting it done. Good luck with it I want to do my engine mounts and flywheel as well in the future but at this point I just want to get the thing back on the road. Thanks again

For future reference, 5th/6th works best for the crank bolt because the amount of torque needed to spin the wheels goes way up

@@pinetezza it IS an authentic garage build. Some people get confused like Oh it's "Garage Kei" it must be a shop. 🤣😂 Nope I'm just an Australian, in Japan, messing around in my back yard... I do aim to give the videos that feeling so I'm glad it comes across. Most other car channels are quite polished and you don't get to see their mistakes or frustration. I appreciate you watching all my Altezza videos! More on the way. Need to source some new oil cooler hoses in the meantime...

Was already subbed, really looking forward to the next installment. Currently converting my 93' Mazda Roadster to ae101 ITBs and Link g4x ECU, despite not being the same car its all still super relevant. Whats your map reading like from your vacuum block at idle like, stable? I'm currently hypothesising if I'll get a stable enough reading at idle to run a map referenced fuel table for idle based on a condition (sub 2k rpm and < 1.5% tps) and then switch to tps fueling/alpha n for normal running above that with the usual adjustments for tip in etc. Might not need it but its always good to have options, like you say for every conversation about ITBs theres someone whos had one running like shit stalling at every set of lights. Loving the videos 👍🏻

@GarageKei Жыл бұрын
Well, thanks for subscribing and for watching!! The map you see in this video is MAP only I believe. I have since changed to an Alpha N tune from PANIC but honestly I don't know that much about tuning. I'm learning as I go. You probably know more about it than I do. I find it very frustrating. Too many bloody acronyms. But as you hear Kieran say in the background of this video, it idled really well for what it WAS... Don't wanna give away too much. 😂🤣

@@GarageKei my pleasure, nice so you must have a reasonable map signal for that then as it doesn't seem too phased by the extra electrical load, that will probably save you a lot of faff with messing with the injector dead times . I'm learning as a go too, just reading what I can and speaking to others. The help files in the link software are great, I also hate acronyms but the right click "whats this" option in link is good for that. Absolutely, got to keep the content flowing and feed the algorithm haha. I wondered if you have an idle air valve to be honest as it sounded almost like a air leak at 9min or so in the vid, save it for the next one eh 👍🏻
@GarageKei
@GarageKei Жыл бұрын
There was no iscv installed. The hissing sound you can hear, that sounds like an air leak, is coming from the throat of the itbs so not a vacuum leak. Also if it was a vacuum leak we'd expect a much higher idle. I assumed that noise was just what these things do...
@batousan_
@batousan_ Жыл бұрын
@@GarageKei yeah I just thought it might be iscv opening up for idle but I guess not, a proper vacuum leak would give you some headaches and a high idle that can't be fixed like you say. Probably just how they come out on the mic at that stage, carbs/itbs sound much beefier in the real.

The usual way to regulate idle with ITBs is by advancing the spark as the speed falls.

No I haven't deleted it. It's there.... New video coming out on that soon. Open PC link. Connect to ECU. Open tune. Agree to all the pop ups and that tune will be loaded onto the ECU. Basically... If you make a change click on "store to ecu" before closing the program.
