I can still sing like Bowie these days regularly but, but, there was this day when I woke up and opened my mouth, my voice was EXACTLY like him in the Glass Spider era!!! Something was crooked in my throat or something, I recorded myself too and it was identical, it felt great too with the vibrato and range. Then I went to bed and woke up the next day and lost it!!! Damn it!!

Chele Coniglio It was more likely because he was a heavy smoker for many years, his voice naturally receded with age, and, like many pop and rock singers, he never received formal training. Still, he had a very distinct and recognizable vocal delivery and sound that was uniquely his own and influenced many generations of rock singers that followed him.

Chele Coniglio his voice had a much Lighter tone After he Quit Smoking. And even on his later Days he had a incredible vocal Range

I've been a Bowie impersonator for decades - your method is pretty solid... I love singing non-Bowie tunes capturing his style, like "A Girl like You" or "Personal Jesus." Sometimes audience members ask when he recorded 'that song'... It's a hoot!

Bowie's third "throat thingie" is called falsetto- but with a really dirty transition, like when you overblow into a shakuhachi flute. Thanks for this, David! Time to head to the karaoke bar to test this out...

That vibrato's amazing! How do you do it like that?
@davidconnelly5 жыл бұрын
You just intermittently interrupt the air flow using your throat and/or lips. This is something that you can control. Watch the Whitney Houston video "I will always you" and you see a close up of her using her lips to brute force vibrato. You can start slowly and exaggerated then gradually smooth it out and pick up the pace.

Hahaha! Well, I love Stallone. Seriously. I've heard his story and his is such a positive and inspirational guy. He also happens to be very high IQ. I love him. Same with Bowie. Even though we're having a few laughs here, I really do respect those people and I'm grateful that I had a chance to walk the Earth at the same time as them.
