There is only one doctrine that the Bible encourages us to embrace. It is definitely neither trinitarian nor oneness!! There's not a scripture in the Bible that supports a trinitarian doctrine or a oneness doctrine not one single scripture!! The Bible itself very clearly and very specifically tells us what doctrine to believe and to ABIDE in!! 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:9 KJV Not one person in the Bible considered themselves to be trinitarian or oneness and if you've been calling yourself that repent!

I am a Christian and have never accepted the doctrine of the Trinity. I have always seen it as an abomination and offense. To this day I am still astounded that all the Christians I know will never deny the idea of the Trinity. They become afraid and will not listen to scripture. They also will not, will not give up "Christ mass" (Christmas), they will not give up Easter and still participate in halloween with their children. No wonder scripture tells us that we must be lovers of truth. Other we can be drawn into deception.

It’s important to realize that when Jesus said “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me,” God had not really left (forsaken) Jesus. This is actually a quote from Psalm 22:1 where David cries out to the Lord in the same way that Jesus did. Just like David wasn’t forsaken by God (since God will never leave us nor forsake us: Deuteronomy 31:6), Jesus was not forsaken by God. But, when Jesus was on the cross, the Bible says that he became sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), and so when Jesus became sin, it’s felt like God had abandoned him, when in reality, he was just experiencing the ultimate feeling of separation that comes from sin.

Most everything these brothers are saying is true. The one belief they have that I disagree with is that Jesus is the name of the Father. The name of the Father is still YHWH, not Jesus. They say that the name Jesus includes the name YHWH. That is extremely misleading. The name Jonathan includes the name YHWH too. The name Matthew does too. Any type of theophoric name that refers back to YHWH as being something, includes a contracted form of that name. That doesn't mean any of these names are God's name, they are human names that refer back to God as being that thing. The name Jesus is a normal human name that several people in Scripture had, in both the Old and New Testaments, and is really a shortened form of the name Joshua. Now, the name above every name. This is something that God gave to Jesus. That is, a reputation and authority above all others. What this means then, is that Jesus didn't have the "name above every name" when he was on this earth, but it was given to him when he ascended. And the name above every name isn't exactly a nominal designation, it's a position of authority. Jesus was given an authority above all others. However, it is clear that, since God gave this to him, as 1 Corinthians 15:27 says, God himself is excepted from this. Therefore, God's personal name of YHWH is the highest name, and it can even be said that this is the "name" or position of exaltation he gave to Jesus. There is a clear Biblical reason why we come to God in Jesus name, and why we baptize in Jesus name, and it's not because Jesus is the name of God. It's because Jesus is the way to God. No one comes to the Father, except through Jesus, for he is the way. And we identify with his death, burial, and resurrection in baptism. This is why we do all in the name of Jesus Christ. Apostolics hold the view that Jesus is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and I don't view that as being Scriptural. And the Holy Ghost is really the very essence and being of the Father's divine person.

I seen a video of brother Bernard saying that 33-year-old man dying on the cross was God and his video the identity of Jesus Christ that is a statement which is not true. God was never born and God was never 30. It's very important to understand the inner Man from the outer man the flesh from the spirit. Why make things difficult Jesus Christ came in the flesh God himself was manifested in that flesh 1st Timothy 3:16. @17:48 John 17:5 is also referring to God's first sacrifice in creation when he sacrificed his onliness to create other eternal free will beings. ( Angel's and Humans which can also be called Sons of God, who were created in the shadow of God). It was a sacrifice because it went against his holy nature in favor of his perfect will and brought evil into existence, ref. Isaiah 45:7 Jesus is the pinnacle of that sacrifical plan to ensure his Freewill beings have a way to inhabit his willful grace (i.e Heaven) and not his rightious nature (i.e Hell). The cross is not the first time he has sacrificed for his people. In fact he has never required of us anything he first has not displayed himself.

Jesus prayed to the Father because he was an authentic human being (which he had to be so that he could be the substitutionary sacrifice for us). As an authentic human, Jesus was like us in all ways (except he never sinned), so he prayed to the Father just like we pray to the Father, the only difference being that the Father was actually incarnate in him. This does not cause a distinction in persons, instead, it merely highlights the authentic human that Jesus was, being both fully God and fully man at the same time (1 Timothy 3:16).

Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear O Israel: the Lord our God is ONE Lord.” Then several thousand years later Jesus said in John 10:30, “I and my Father are ONE.” Exodus 3:13-14 states that before Moses came down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments he asked God who shall he say sent him. God said I AM THAT I AM, tell them I AM SENT YOU. Then several thousand years later Jesus said in John 8:58 "Verily, verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, "I AM." God did not reveal what His name was until Matthew 1:23-25, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted, GOD WITH US." 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her first born son and called his name JESUS." Jesus said in John 17:21, “That they all may be one, as thou art in ME, and I in YOU, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you have sent me.” Matthew 26:15 states that Judas Iscariot (the disciple that betrayed Jesus), “What will you give me if I will deliver him to you? And they (the Chief Priests) weighed out 30 pieces of silver.” Note back in Zechariah 11:12 in the Old Testament it says, “And I said unto them, If you think good, give ME my price and if not forbear. So they weighed for my price 30 pieces of silver.” Note that is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob talking about HIMSELF after He became a MAN and before He was crucified. It says in John 19:34, “But one of the Soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came out blood and water. “Note back in Zechariah 12:10 it says, “....and they shall look upon ME whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him...” Also in Zechariah 13:6 it says, “And one shall say to him (Jesus), What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those are which I was wounded in the house of my friends.” Psalms 22:16, “For dogs have compassed me, the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me, they pierced my hands and my feet.” Also in the Old Testament - Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our piece was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.” Note that is the FATHER of the Old Testament referring to HIMSELF as He was hanging on the cross. Mark 15:24, “And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots for them, what every man should take.” Note back in Psalms 22:18 in the Old Testament it says, “They part my garments among them and cast lots upon my vesture.” Note that is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob referring to HIMSELF as He was hanging on the cross. John 19:29, “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it on a hyssop, and put it to his mouth.” Note back in Psalms 69:21 it says, “They gave ME also gall for my meat and in my thirst they gave ME vinegar to drink.” Jesus said in John 5:39, “Search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, and they are they which testify of ME.” Jesus is referring to the scriptures in the Old Testament which are referring to HIMSELF before he took on flesh and became a man. (John 1:1, 10 and 14) Paul said in Galatians 1:12 that he was not taught by any man but was taught directly by Jesus himself, which means that whatever Paul did or said was exactly what Jesus told him to say. Paul said in Hebrews 1:8, “But unto the SON he saith, Thy throne O GOD is forever and ever.” Jesus said in John 12:44-45, “He that believes on me believes not on me, BUT ON HIM THAT SENT ME. 45 And he that sees ME sees HIM that sent ME.” John 14:8-10, “Philip said to Jesus, Lord, show us the Father and it will satisfy us. 9 Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long a time with you and yet you have not known me Philip? He that has seen me HAS SEEN THE FATHER, and how do you say now, show us the Father?” 10 Believe thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words I speak unto you I speak not of myself, but the Father that DWELLS IN ME - HE DOES THE WORKS.” Jesus said in John 14:28, “....for my Father is greater than I.” In other words, that paragraph is saying that the flesh and blood man Jesus did not heal the sick or raise the dead - the FATHER which dwelt INSIDE Him did those works, which He and the Father are ONE, which explains why Jesus said the Father is greater than he is. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:19, “To wit that God was IN Christ, reconciling the world unto HIMSELF." Paul said in Colossians 2:8-10, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily. 10 And you are complete in HIM (Jesus), which is the head of all principality and power.” The Godhead is IN Jesus - JESUS IS THE GODHEAD. Jesus said in Matthew 23:37, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that killed the prophets and stoned them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together even as a hen gathered chickens under her wings, and you would not listen!” That is a very interesting scripture because Jesus is speaking as the flesh and blood man he was at that time but ALSO speaking as the FATHER (they are ONE) and referring to a time long before Jesus was born. All the scriptures above prove the ONENESS of God and that there is no such thing as the Trinity. We get the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in the Name Jesus, which is why every time water Baptism was done in the Name Jesus, or in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, meaning Jesus name was invoked at baptism, which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7-8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16. At no time did Jesus disciples use any combination of the words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost when they baptized anyone in water, or use a combination of those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4,"Take heed that no man deceives you." Jesus also said Jesus in John 10:27,"My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Why is the Oneness not a salvation issue?
@charlesbanks457 Жыл бұрын
It actually is a salvation issue. Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins In the KJV, the word "he" is in italics which indicates that it is not found in the Greek texts. What Jesus actually said was "for if he believe not that I AM ..." I AM is how God revealed himself to Moses from the burning Bush. Why doesn't Jesus just say "Yes, I am God revealed in flesh"? Two main reasons, 1- He would never allow flesh to glory in his presence; 1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 2- He wants us to receive the revelation by faith

The oneness doctrine does preserve the concept of the trinity of three persons or three manifestations being one. The oneness doctrine of the UPC is still trinity, and is believed by the orthodox churches. They believe there are three manifestations of God, and are one. So you should not say that you do not believe in the trinity.

At 38:10 where is it said that "he is spoken of as BOTH God AND the Lamb" in Revelation? This is what it says: Rev 5:6 Then I saw One like a slaughtered lamb standing between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. Rev 5:7 He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the One seated on the throne. Clearly, the Lamb is BETWEEN the Throne of God and AMONG the Elders. The Lamb, the Resurrected Immortal Man Jesus, IDENTIFIES with the Elders. The Lamb takes the scroll out of the right hand of God who is sitting on His Throne. There is only ONE God in Heaven, and the Lamb is not that God. Obviously, the Lamb is the "Lamb OF God" whom we all know to be the Resurrected Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul tells us that Jesus is SITTING at the right hand OF God. The "right hand of God" is not the Throne of God where Yahweh God ALONE sits. Why do y'all insist that the Father AND the Son ARE/IS the same Person, when Scripture clearly makes them TWO distinct Persons. One is Divine, i.e., God, and the other is a Human Being in all respects. Why do y'all need a "theologian" to EXPLAIN who Yahweh God IS and who Jesus IS. They are not the same Person in supposedly different MODES. Just because "theologians" say: "God AS the Father" and "God AS the Son", doesn't make it so. Those TERMS, like "oneness", "trinity", "incarnation", are nowhere to be found in Scripture. Yahweh God and Jesus Christ are always spoken of as TWO different Beings, one Human and one Divine. By what rule of Bible Hermeneutics can we determine that it is possible for Yahweh God, an infinitely powerful Being, to somehow divest Himself of all of His infinite power and metamorph Himself into a powerless human being? Where is that process found in Scripture? We cannot just ASSUME that He can do such a thing without having some evidence. Yet that is exactly what "incarnations", such as yourselves, and "trinitarians", actually ASSUME He is capable of doing. If He can divest Himself of infinite majesty and power, how can He get it back, while being a weak Man? You see, y'all just bring out MORE questions than answers. Scripture is not confusing if we just let it say what it says and not INTRODUCE our own THOUGHTS into the interpretation of verses. Bro Bernard introduced his personal idea that the Lamb OF God and God Himself BOTH sit as ONE Person on ONE Throne. Wait, wait, what?? The Book says no such thing, he just projects his own personal thoughts INTO the text, i.e., IESEGESES. Read the Scripture for yourselves, the so called "oneness" concept just ain't there! They are spoken of and described as TWO separate Beings! Any fifth grader, who has NOT been indoctrinated into "incarnation-ism", should be able to read the New Testament for themselves and come out with the knowledge of TWO main Characters, the Father and the Son. The Father is clearly defined to be the eternal God, Yahweh Elohim in the O.T., and the Son is clearly defined as a finite human, the Lord Jesus Christ. How in the world can anyone, who has not been indoctrinated into "incarnation-ism", after reading the Bible on his own, come away with the conclusion that Yahweh God is ONE Being who supposedly is "God, AS the Father" and "God, AS the Son", is beyond my pay grade. Either I have to lower my I.Q. by 50 points to an 80 or raise my I.Q. to 180, 'cause apparently, I'm either not dumb enough or not smart enough to understand the "incarnation-ism" concept. At 130, I can and do understand that Yahweh God is ONE and ONLY ONE divine and eternal Being and that He has a uniquely begotten Human Son which came into existence, as all Men do, around the year 5 B.C. E., by being CONCEIVED in the womb of a Human Woman. The Scriptures which give us the Historical account of HOW and WHEN Jesus came into being, viz., Matthew and Luke, both tell us NOTHING about a so called "incarnation of a God" event. They both tell us about the CONCEPTION and BIRTH of a Human Being, Biology 101. We are explicitly told that Yahweh God Himself, through His own creative and life-giving power, i.e., His own Spirit, PROVIDED Mary, a virgin maid who was of child bearing age and apparently fertile, with the Human Male "seed" needed for procreation of a child. Yahweh God from the beginning established His Laws of Natural Human Procreation Process, i.e., a human male "seed" combines with a human female "ovum" to CONCEIVE a NEW Being, to bring a new life into the world. That is exactly WHAT happened, there was a CONCEPTION, Biology 101, not a so-called "incarnation". Was God, the Creator of all living things, able to CREATE one single microscopic human male "seed" directly inside Mary's virgin womb? Jesus, who had life giving power, GIVEN to him by God, healed people from all sorts of physical maladies. Did he give them artificial or bionic eyes, tongues, ears, hands, feet, etc.? No, he gave them 100% New Natural flesh; he CREATED new flesh and bone, viz., lots of living human cells. Yahweh God needed to create only one singular microscopic human male "seed" inside Mary's womb in order for Mary to NATURALLY CONCEIVE the child Jesus. Around the year 5 B.C. E., Yahweh God became the Father and Jesus became the Son and Mary was the actual Mother of Jesus. Prior to Jesus' CONCEPTION, not "incarnation", in his mother's womb, Jesus had no existence, for Men do not exist until they are CONCEIVED, FORMED, and given BIRTH. It would be oxymoronic to say that an eternal God BEGOT Himself or that He CONCEIVED Himself in a womb, yeah, it would be totally ABSURD! Yet that is exactly what "incarnationists", of whatever shades of grey they may throw at you, want us to believe. Not buying!

“God didn’t just put on flesh like a raincoat he was fully human and God.” Then proceeds to talk about how only the man is praying as a man in right relationship with God, only a human, not God, can be the mediator, and thus deduce that the man can claim glory alongside God. Over and over in Scripture we are seen as needing to be reconciled to “the Father.” Not the son. Jesus is the only way to the Father yet Jesus is truly God and truly man, meaning God the Father is distinct from Jesus the God/man (God the Son) if we can only get to God the Father through Jesus the God-man then we have two distinctions of persons within the Godhead here. You have hypocritically created a God that simply wraps himself in flesh, whereas the flesh and the deity in Christ can be separated. How convenient to be able to do all of these gymnastics to conflate Jesus as strictly human where you want to and strictly God where you need to to fit your MOVEMENT’s presuppositions. Also “we read from the OT to the NT so nothing changes or contradicts in the testaments,” yet God says his name is Yahweh and you say his name is Jesus based on NT revelation.

This is a misrepresentation of what the trinity is. Trinitarians believe in ONE GOD! But as God said "let US make man in our Image" and we are three parts in one person (body, soul and spirit), so is God. The problem is that our finite minds have nothing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to compare the fullness of God to. So, we search for human terms to describe Him and His being. Therefore, in that, we get doctrines of the trinity or of oneness. We do not believed Jesus is "a second God!" We know He IS God. I could go on and on. But it is inappropriate to misrepresent the doctrine of the trinity in order to substantiate the views of Oneness.

Apostle Paul believes that there is in fact God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and is distinct person.

Apostle Paul doesn't believe a trinitarian doctrine and he definitely doesn't believe a oneness doctrine he believes The Doctrine of Christ! Its the only doctrine supported by the Bible! Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:9

@@biblicalmeditation2040 Deuteronomy 6:4 Mark 12:24-34 How we see God is important, the reason why is because we don’t want to worship the wrong God. So we need to be clear on who our God is and how many He is. Many say that God is three persons in one, but where in the bible does it attribute God or the Spirit of God to an actual human being. So that can only mean that there is one or more gods or God, so how many are there. There are three main belief sections on this topic, Polytheism which is the belief of multiple Gods, Trinitarian which is the belief of three Gods, and then Monotheism which is the belief of simply one God that has and can reveal Himself in multiple ways. We have all these beliefs so which one is correct. Ephesians 4:1-6 There is only one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, One God and Father of all. Now people might say this is only talking about the Father, there is only one Father, but there is only, One Son, and One Holy Ghost. Most people say God is 1+1+1=1 that isn’t even mathematically correct or biblical. It’s 1x1x1=1. Matthew 28:19 Many Trinitarians like to use this verse to prove their point which is great I love this verse. But the fact that it proves the Trinity is pushing it, I would like to say it says name and not names. So that disproves their point because if there are three god’s than it would say names. Than something else I would like to talk about the thought of three gods. Which one is for salvation the Father, the Son, or the Holy Ghost? It can’t be all three because. Acts 4:10-12 So that would mean the Son is the one for salvation, so we don’t need the Holy Ghost, we don’t need God's spirit inside of us. Isaiah 43:10-11; 44:8 These people who believe in other Gods beside the one knows more than God Himself. What is even worse. James 2:19 The devil knows there is only one God and trembles. Collosians 1:19;2:8-9 In the Father and Christ(Son) dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, but God is three so how can this happen? This can only mean they care for one and the came. 1 John 2:22-24; 4:1-3 1 Timothy 3:16 2 John 1:7 Whoever denieth that Jesus who is both Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is a liar and antichrist. If you would like I can go more into this with you privately.

@@samename6479 So what do you believe as far as how many Gods, Spirits, or Persons make up the Godhead, because I think I know what you meant but I just want to make sure.
