The division of Christians began in 70 AD, when the Church of Jerusalem was forced to flee as a result of the Roman war. At that time, the Church was without leadership and split into the Church of Rome, Egypt, Armenia and Ireland. In this early Middle Ages full of wars, each church had to find a way to survive. In addition, the Church of Rome persecuted any other opinion in the Inquisition. In modern times, however, the division of Christians has a different cause. Namely, the lack of the Holy Spirit. Without this, unity is impossible. ♾

The Bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation.(Acts 20:29,30) Jesus taught his followers only ONE religion, the true religion! When he said that the tradition from 20 centuries is broken... in the case of the catholic church if a bishops live a sinful life... The fact that some members of the clergy lead a sinful life does not affect the teaching of the church. The Bible says that, there is "One Lord, one FAITH- which, in Greek can mean, doctrine, teaching, belief, or Divine truth- especially those of the gospel- and one baptism (Ephesians 4:5), but, because of our constitutional right to freedom of religion, people believe that they have the right to interpret the scriptures as they see fit, leading to the creation of dozens of Christian denominations that contradict each other and the scriptures. The Bible also states, "that no prophecy (explanation) of scripture (writings of the Bible) is of any PRIVATE INTERPRETATION." (2 Peter 1:20), therefore, all scriptures have INTENDED meaning, so you can't make them say or mean what you wanted them to say or mean. The scriptures are spiritually discerned, or understood, therefore, you must be Holy Ghost Filled in order to understand and explain the scriptures (1 Corinthians 2:14). 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs us to STUDY the scriptures to avoid shaming ourselves when we "divide" (explain) the scriptures. This means you have to do your homework in order to understand and explain the Bible. These verses, along with many, many other verses of scripture, allows us to know that there is a correct way and an incorrect way to study the Bible.

As far as I know, the Catholic church has their own set of commandments which differs from the original KJV. One of the commandments of God;s Commandments namely the 4th one, commands us to keep the Sabbath holy, but somehow the Catholic church changed that to keeping the Sunday holy. Jesus said in Mat_5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Who gave the Catholic church the right to change God's Law? O yes, the pope, because he thinks he is god on earth and can change God's Law. So did he change other Laws of God as well. Then there are the false teachings of Purgatory, child baptism, state of the dead, the Trinity teaching, that Mary is the mother of God, forgiving of sins by the bishops, paying for sins to be forgiven even beforehand, praying for the dead etc, Then you have the audacity to say that the Protestants are wolves in sheep clothes. The Protestant churches have also been mislead by the Catholic church's Sunday teaching so much so that most of the believers worldwide believe that Sunday is the day of the Lord. You point one finger at the Protestant churches but there are three fingers pointing to you. I hope your eyes will open before Jesus comes to collect the saved.

The real reason is that they did not allow the Bible to interpret it self and by taking a text out of context. Romans is used to confuse us, because Paul did not tell which law he was referring to. Decalogue, ceremonial law, health laws etc. The ceremonial laws ended at the Cross. Jesus replace the animal sacrifice.

Technically, as a gentile the hebrew laws as in worship dont apply. Its like the Samaritans, they believe God should be worsipped on one mountain, and the israelites believe in another mountain. Jesus said neither mountains will be needed. Im super paraphrasing, the story is in line. Lastly the sabbath is not just on Saturday, but sun down Friday night til sunrise sunday morning. We also follow the Julian calendar, which is different from the jewish calendar.
