John Lynch "I've got good news! We just spent 4 hours on the phone with The Patriots, and we were finally able to agree on players and picks. And they will pay him as a top 5 WR!" Ryan Williams "Oh, BA won't play for New England no matter how much they offer." John Lynch "IT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW THAT 4 GODDAMN HOURS AGO!!!"

The "They don't want me back" video is where BA lost me. At that point, I knew that this stuff would continue on and made BA look like a diva. I get it, he wants more money and gets what he feels he deserves and that is his right, but don't get upset if fans won't root for you after that nonsense.

Nothing went wrong. BA is a good receiver and excels in the 9er system with 5 receivers out in patterns so BA doesn't draw the best defender. He wants 2 million dollars a game for 67 receptions a year. It's just too much as he is not a hall of Fame or franchise elite player. He is not big, not super strong, not super fast but a good player who can get separation. I think it's a bit of diva delusion with bad agent advice. Going from 14 mil a year to 26 mil a year is a fantastic boost for what he brings and how he fits this team's offense. l think it's all on him.

Justin Jefferson is the most important and popular player on the Vikings. He is the Vikings franchise player. More important to the organization than any QB thus far. St. Brown is the engine that drives the Lions offense. He's the leader of that team. Both players play a bigger role within their respective teams than BA plays in the stacked roster 49ers.

AS a life long San Francisco 49er fan I'm the type of person who roots for the name on the front of the Jersey and not the name that's on the back with that being said I understand that Brandon Alyuk wants to get as much money that he can in this sport, I also understand the 49ers point of view he needs to come to an understanding what more important, getting paid a lot of money and not being happy not making it to the playoffs or not getting as much with the chance of getting into the playoffs with a chance to make it all the way to the super bowl just taking a little less money it's his decision so whatever happens the 49ers will still be great let's go niners.

It’s amazing that he doesn’t want 26.5 a year (12.5 more than he was going to already get this year) but rather go to either a middle of the road contender or a rebuilding team for max money! If I were him I’d take the contract the Niners offered him which is a solid one and be able to contend for a SB every year. It’s a no brainer if you ask me! Players have become way too greedy!!!

Give him 120 targets, less run blocking responsibility, and he's easily getting 1500+ every year. That's why he didn't wanna go to Cleveland. Run heavy lol. Put him on the Chiefs, Bills, Cinci, etc and he'll produce top tier numbers. Even the Jets tbh

Brandon Aiyuk is a good WR with the 49ers, because of the 49er offense design. Whether BA will be as good with another team is in question. BA was given a fair deal and BA is being greedy and difficult. The 49ers are better off to replace BA with new players not just because of the money issues, but because of his greed and difficulty to negotiate a contract. This is a perfect example of someone who will not produce once paid. I would fine him if he does not play. If he plays and does not perform as well as he has, I'd bench him while getting a deal made for him. Purdy will have to look for other WRs to be his favorite target. He will make that adjustment. The Jefferson deal is going to financially destroy the Vikings for many years. It was the dumbest move by the Vikings. The 49ers could replace BA with a deal for Cowboys Lamb who is looking for more dollars and has better numbers, which I think wouldn't be smart, unless a good deal could be reached.

Nah if BA made all pro with 1k yards on way less targets than anybody else it shows hes legit. Kyle's offense is holding him back and that's probably the reason why he wants out. BA is a premium talent being used as a blocker most of the time.

Perhaps he blames Shanahan for not targeting him in the Super Bowl. Remember in the beginning Shanahan was hard on Brandon. But Brandon matured and became a very good receiver. But despite his accomplishments Shanahan did not use him enough in the Super Bowl. I believe that was a slap in his face from Shanahan. And the fact that they lost the Super Bowl….that really upset Brandon. I personally believe he doesn’t like Shanahan. He just doesn’t want to play for Shanahan. I've wondered about the details in these NFL contracts. If the Aiyuk side accepted a stepped plan for 4-5 years of progressively higher salaries beginning at a base of - say - 26M, provided that each year in the plan was indexed to the value of one Dollar in the year 2019, would the 49ers management make a deal with Aiyuk? If no other athlete in the NFL had an indexed Dollar plan, would that not appeal to him both on the basis of rising value guaranteed, while the value of other athletes' contracts deteriorated due to inflation. Naturally, the 49ers would also want a non-disclosure clause signed by B.A. & his team regarding the fact that his basic salary was both progressive and indexed.
@jasonglovick8065

I think the niners had a plan, and that aiyuk had a plan. The niners knew they had to sign him according to the plan. That if we were going to make everyone work, they had to get aiyuk at the rate if things are going to work. We could sweeten the deal, relying on the salary cap increasing in the future when his money would ultimately hit the cap, but that would be a risk. I think if aiyuk truly wanted to be a niner, he would have just thought about the dynamics of the situation and would have just signed then. I think him waiting, betting on himself, and continuing to allow other receivers, on other teams, with other dynamics to their situation poison his thinking on his situation, show that he truly doesn’t want to be on a team, that’s ready to win, that’s loaded with PAID talent. It’s not the end. And the decision ultimately hasn’t been signed. But he needs to realize that this isn’t the lions. This isn’t the Vikings. That this team has better things to focus on other that being the highest paid. That it wants to be recognized as the best team in the league

Aiyuk wants to be WR1 with a team and he wants $30m apy. Cool bro, go do that for a team that doesn't compete for anything like the Steelers or Browns. Be the number one guy and consistently miss the playoffs. The 49ers at best could have made him option 2 on offense after CMC. Trading Aiyuk will mean they can probably keep Mooney Ward, Lenoir and Aaron Banks as well as giving Trent some guaranteed money They will more than likely get a WR back off the other team and a first round pick. With two ones next year and Pearsall stepping into WR2 the 49ers could get a franchise right tackle with one of their firsts and go BPA with the other pick.

Here we go with the York’s again. Money is more important than a championship team. If we had let Jim Harbaugh remain I am comfortable saying we would have two to three more Super Bowl wins. Shanahan has not delivered, and will continue his current ways. We have a world class wide receiver now, perhaps the best wide receiver in a long long time. And we can’t pay him what current salaries dictate. And this goes way back to when the Yorks took over for Eddie DBartolo. So now we have one of the best teams in football history, and we are going to trade our chances away. Too many egos and not enough strategic business moves that get us a SB ring again.

Ask them: if you could go back and win a Super Bowl, but had to play for the ROOKIE MINIMUM SALARY, would you do it? I'll bet the answer from 100% of them would be "YES"! Just because a couple of teams OVER PAID a WR, and the 49ers are smart enough not to fall into the trap, doesn't equate to "disrespect" toward BA. If a player can't make it on $20 million a year, then he has a REAL PROBLEM! Find a trade upgrade at OL and jettison this DIVA!

As we all say, one person doesn't make a team. To me, don't really care, money is driving his playing, not his abiiity, and that's just the way business is.

Is it not obvious that BA got greedy? He doesn't want a ring, he wants money. Greed is difficult to deal with. Let him go already, I for one am fed up with him.

St Brown's number was below market. You need to work with someone to understand how to read contracts.

What happened after KC traded away the "best WR in the league" Tyreek Hill? Anybody remember how the 2022 and 2023 seasons ended for the Chiefs?

Tbh, stuff started getting weird when his GF put this whole situation on blast immediately after the SuperBowl loss. Like, why does it seem she is the one encouraging him to go all in on the money gain? He literally has zero leverage. If he was a consistent 1250+ yrd receiver with multiple TDs then I’d understand, but he’s not even the featured number 1. This is ridiculous.

@@Frijolemole because he is not primary target on that team or else he would have those numbers

Doesn't matter what went wrong now. We need to get rid of BA for the sake of the tean at this point. To have a decent season and not some. Cluster F@#$ all season.

This is what happens when you let players dictate to the teams what they want, and not making players honer their contracts. It will just get worse each year with each team unless the teams don’t start writing into contracts that players will forfeit remaining salaries, teams are heading for disaster salary wise because you can’t depend on the cap to keep raising at the rate these players want salary increases, the NFL is heading for a huge disaster if they don’t get this under control. These players prove that it’s not the game or competition, it’s the greed the players want and the teams are willing to pay, but this is going to kill pro football.

Deebo was much more mature than Aiyuk is being. I can see Aiyuk mirroring Deebos approach, but like doing it like a child. He needs to pay attention to Bosa and Trent…

Yeah he did get greedy,so did his chic and his little friends giving him bad advice. He could have got more money down the road with a great team.So by by off to the patriots where your carrier is nothing. Welcome back Kendrick Bourne and a 2 round pick and let's move on from from that already.

These top footballers could put away in a safe investment like an annuity of $100 million and live the next 50 years on 2million a year. I see the need for them to put as much away while healthy before a career ending injury occurs. The high spending life style now can cause an unsustainable lifestyle later. The smart ones plan for that day.

Im over the guy already. I've said it before He's not top 5 so stop asking for top 5 money. His people around him watching him sabotage his career. He will never be as successful as he was in SF anywhere else.
