Nothing went wrong. BA is a good receiver and excels in the 9er system with 5 receivers out in patterns so BA doesn't draw the best defender. He wants 2 million dollars a game for 67 receptions a year. It's just too much as he is not a hall of Fame or franchise elite player. He is not big, not super strong, not super fast but a good player who can get separation. I think it's a bit of diva delusion with bad agent advice. Going from 14 mil a year to 26 mil a year is a fantastic boost for what he brings and how he fits this team's offense. l think it's all on him.

Justin Jefferson is the most important and popular player on the Vikings. He is the Vikings franchise player. More important to the organization than any QB thus far. St. Brown is the engine that drives the Lions offense. He's the leader of that team. Both players play a bigger role within their respective teams than BA plays in the stacked roster 49ers.

Brandon Aiyuk is a good WR with the 49ers, because of the 49er offense design. Whether BA will be as good with another team is in question. BA was given a fair deal and BA is being greedy and difficult. The 49ers are better off to replace BA with new players not just because of the money issues, but because of his greed and difficulty to negotiate a contract. This is a perfect example of someone who will not produce once paid. I would fine him if he does not play. If he plays and does not perform as well as he has, I'd bench him while getting a deal made for him. Purdy will have to look for other WRs to be his favorite target. He will make that adjustment. The Jefferson deal is going to financially destroy the Vikings for many years. It was the dumbest move by the Vikings. The 49ers could replace BA with a deal for Cowboys Lamb who is looking for more dollars and has better numbers, which I think wouldn't be smart, unless a good deal could be reached.

I've wondered about the details in these NFL contracts. If the Aiyuk side accepted a stepped plan for 4-5 years of progressively higher salaries beginning at a base of - say - 26M, provided that each year in the plan was indexed to the value of one Dollar in the year 2019, would the 49ers management make a deal with Aiyuk? If no other athlete in the NFL had an indexed Dollar plan, would that not appeal to him both on the basis of rising value guaranteed, while the value of other athletes' contracts deteriorated due to inflation. Naturally, the 49ers would also want a non-disclosure clause signed by B.A. & his team regarding the fact that his basic salary was both progressive and indexed.
@jasonglovick80652 ай бұрын
I think the niners had a plan, and that aiyuk had a plan. The niners knew they had to sign him according to the plan. That if we were going to make everyone work, they had to get aiyuk at the rate if things are going to work. We could sweeten the deal, relying on the salary cap increasing in the future when his money would ultimately hit the cap, but that would be a risk. I think if aiyuk truly wanted to be a niner, he would have just thought about the dynamics of the situation and would have just signed then. I think him waiting, betting on himself, and continuing to allow other receivers, on other teams, with other dynamics to their situation poison his thinking on his situation, show that he truly doesn’t want to be on a team, that’s ready to win, that’s loaded with PAID talent. It’s not the end. And the decision ultimately hasn’t been signed. But he needs to realize that this isn’t the lions. This isn’t the Vikings. That this team has better things to focus on other that being the highest paid. That it wants to be recognized as the best team in the league

Be the number one guy and consistently miss the playoffs. The 49ers at best could have made him option 2 on offense after CMC. Trading Aiyuk will mean they can probably keep Mooney Ward, Lenoir and Aaron Banks as well as giving Trent some guaranteed money They will more than likely get a WR back off the other team and a first round pick. With two ones next year and Pearsall stepping into WR2 the 49ers could get a franchise right tackle with one of their firsts and go BPA with the other pick.

And we can’t pay him what current salaries dictate. And this goes way back to when the Yorks took over for Eddie DBartolo.
