Thank you! Artefill is the filler FDA approved for augmentation in the face, although non-surgical rhinoplasty would be an off-label use. Some physicians use Silicone 1000, which has been FDA approved for use in the eye. Most physicians are cautious about placing Silicon in the nose, because it would be very difficult to treat a complication.

@teamr0ckit Thanks for the comment. A few things to consider: 1. The indirect costs saved in avoiding a surgical procedure. 2. The results in some instances (small to medium changes) are actually better and more precise than surgical outcomes. 3. The risks of surgery that are avoided. 4. The results are cumulative, so you need less filler each time. 5. We will probably have a permanent filler one day. Thanks again.

Thanks! There is a permanent filler called Artefill which works well for filling concavities. It is not as firm and possibly not as good at augmentation and definition.

@runonramen There is a filler called Artefill which is semi-permanent and may be used for non-surgical rhinoplasty

I see this video was posted in 2011. Are there currently any FDA approved fillers that are permanent for use in the nose? Thanks! All you patients look great!

YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB ON YOUR MALE PATIENT! think the SHAPE of my nose works very well with my face, but the bridge is very broad. my tip also comes off very undefined. i saw a local doctor and consulted about NSR he told me what i wanted was impossible. he pretty much told me i shouldn't have anything done. it upset me. how far away are we from permanent fillers?

Although the material injected slowly dissolves, with repeated injections, the body builds up it's own collagen and the results last longer and longer between treatments.

When a perm filler is available would that really be recommended vs the short term one? I know that the nose continues to change over your lifetime, so is it possible that a perm filler might not "grow" the same way your nose does and just turn out looking odd?

1500$ is the charge for the initial injection. F/U injections are $750. Usually there is filler left over and this may be applied to other places, like under the eyes, cheeks, lips, etc. It takes the filler 1 year to completely dissolve, but at 6 months, half of the filler has dissolved and this is when most people cho ose to come in for up-keep.

This looks really nice, but I think it's a bit expensive over time. I see it as a good alternative for someone who doesn't mind spending $1500 a year on their nose over a lifetime vs just one flat cost of a traditional nose job. Still, regardless of the cost, very good work Doctor.

Oh thanks for the info :). By the way, is it possible to use fillers to change the shape of the nose tip? Or are they more effective to adjust the nose bridge? Thanks!

I also really like that you show all views....front and side, most times you only get a side view. The girl at 1:51, her photos looks amazing. I really had no idea such a thing was possible without actual surgery. I have seen this technique before by other doctors without such a great result. WOW.

Your work looks amazing. I've always pondered about having something like this performed but I'm latino with an ethnic nose and I don't want to erase my ethnicity. I notice that many of the surgical and non-surgical rhinoplasties end up giving people of color a very anglicized appearing nose. I would like a higher bridge but not a turned up nose. What do you say in regards to this?
@DavidMabrieMD7 жыл бұрын
Hi Felipe Bustamante! This is a great question! My goal when performing a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty is always to achieve the patient's vision. I have many patients that want to keep the look of their ethnic nose while just making a few refinements. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty is a great option for this as the changes can be as subtle or dramatic as you like.

Is there or are there Dr. Mabrie approved doctors in NYC that you can recommend for African American males who want a less bulbous and flaring nostril appearance? I need to find one for JULY 2017! Thank you

Hi Usha, For nonsurgical rhinoplasty we prefer to use a hyaluronic acid filler called Restylane, which can last up to 12 months or even longer with maintenance treatments at 6 months and follow-up appointments scheduled at approximately 9 to 12 months. Restylane is a firm, thinner gel that enables the injector to sculpt and shape nasal skin more effectively than thicker fillers. There are permanent filler options, such as silicone, Bellafill, or autologous fat injections (using the patient’s own fat). But we don't recommend and offer them and here is why: Like any medical procedure, filler injections have potential risks and side effects. If you do not like the results or if there are any issues what-so-ever, you cannot dissolve permanent filler to remove it. We hope this is helpful. ~Mabrie Facial Institute
