Aren't you glad you replaced that annoying belt. Enjoyed the show. My grandpa was a mechanic, but plowed with mules. Asked dad why. As a boy his neighbor's steam tractor blew up. There was an eight foot crater where it had been. The boiler was found half a mile away. Another died when his fordson got bogged down and flipped over on him. First one died of a snake bite, later the other. His plowing days were over. Thanks for sharing Dave.

I just found your channel today and have already watched 4 or 5 videos and I plan on watching them all. The guys you give credit to for starting your channel (Adam Booth, Keith Rucker, Keith Fenner, etc) I have watched for years. You don't take a back seat to any of them as you are a top notch machinist in your own right. I've always admired how they created beautiful work using top of the line equipment and in some cases more modern equipment. My admiration is even higher for you because of the equipment you use and still turn out top quality work. Thanks for videoing and posting your interesting and historical work.

Thank you for posting. I loved it. Wish my Dad was alive to watch all of your posts. Keep up the good work. I remember an old man, that ran his shop with belts from the shaft on the ceiling. That was in about 1977 or 78. In Florence, Al. Thanks again.

I worked in an old machine shop that was powered by a water wheel but otherwise same sort of setup. You might want to change the geometry on your cutter a bit to get rid of those long cutting strings, we always aimed for what we called a # 6 chip . A little cutting fluid would help too. Great video, brought back memories
