Rarely do I watch videos in entirety but man this was an extremely well put together video! Stuff like this should be getting viral on KZbin telling the young kids who want to get involved in racing that they can do it!

Congratulations. I remember my first open wheel modified race, high bank dirt track at Haubstadt in SW Indiana. The noise, the smell, the feel of the horsepower when it would get a good bite. getting blasted by pellets of clay when passed (which happened frequently in that first event) but I crawled out of the car after ten laps and could barely stand up. Thought "how do they do this for 200 laps at Indy or Daytona". Have felt adrenalin many times in my life, but never, ever greater than in that moment. My proudest possession (next to my trophy wife of 44 years) is my 1995 Nascar competitors license. Good going David... btw, if you had used the word "stage" for that break in the final test segment, I would have exited. Always enjoy your commentaries, you'll have to go a long way to exceed the enjoyment I got from this one though.

Great video David!! Your awesome narrator skills really added to this one, i love the way you did the intro and the story line of this one. And 123 patrons! This community is the best! Also, I think this video has the potential to be more of a 'viral' hit but to tickle the sweet-spot of the YT algorithm i think the title should be "HOW I BECAME A RACE CAR DRIVER", in all caps.

Peter West has been around about 100 years. I’ve been racing FF since 1997 in N. California and I’ve been to Button a few times but supporting a friend. That car you had was sweet. Surprised I’ve nog heard of the owner. FV is a great starting place and virtually every F1 and Indycar driver has been in them early on. Pageneau even got in one after his Indycar career had begun. He did’t win either. Danica and Newgarden both went to England for FF driving. The counter intuitive thing about driving these is if you get into a corner a little hotter than you feel comfy with and lift the ass will come around for sure. The weight comes of the tires and you are backwards. Look up Brad Hayes Racing. He used to live in Ca. but is now somewhere around Indy and has a Piper FF he rents as well as a midget. Real nice guy.

Very very cool my friend! This gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe someday I'll be able to play amateur racecar driver too. The competive spirit is strong. Good on you for keeping your cool there.
