Somewhere In Time/Rhapsody On A Theme By Paganini - John Barry/Sergei Rachmaninoff

The 18th variation of Rhapsody On A Theme By Paginini by Sergei Rachmaninoff is used in the movie 'Somewhere In Time'. Composer John Barry wrote the music to the film in 1980. In today’s musical offering, I perform the love theme as composed for the film, followed by a piano transcription of Rachmaninoff’s piece which was composed in 1934.

My Moms favorite movie and music of all time. I heard her crying one night and when I checked to see what , she was holding my dad's photo and listening to this piece by John Barry. I'm praying that I can get the money to take her to The Somewhere in time Weekend. She absolutely deserves 5 40 yrs older than me. I'm her only son. Please if anyone knows of Anyway I can get reasonable priced tickets for the SWIT Weekend please let me know. ​@@Mello4fee SWiT is an acronym for "Some Where in Time". The Grand Hotel on Michigan's Mackinac Island hosts a weekend long event each fall commemorating the film. Each year fans of the movie gather at the hotel by the hundreds dressed in period garb for the event. It's really quite a big deal and is sometimes attended by Jane Seymour herself. 😊
