i know i'm not alone here (or particularly on time), but this genuinely gave me a few tears. i'm not a life long subscriber or anything, i only found your channel a few weeks ago after getting my first bass as an early Christmas present. you have become one of major inspirations and motivations to devote myself to this instrument. without trying to make this about myself, i've had some hard times recently and becoming passionate about almost anything has been extremely difficult for me. but wanting to learn to play bass has broken that cycle. it really made me happy to see that even someone with confidence issues, some superficial flaw's and social problems (like myself) can make it this far in life just with a little belief in yourself and commiting yourself to your passions. i know your at 12 million now and i will continue to watch your entire catalogue but i have to say, i'm a little doubtful that another milestone video could possibly top this one, but i really hope your content continues to be one of the best influences and sources of entertainment i have right now. thank you davie, it takes a lot of courage to be this open and voluntarily vulnerable even in gratitude. you didn't have to share this, but myself and many others it seems will be eternally grateful. i don't want to make promises i can't keep but if and when i can you will have my full finical support, it's nothing less then you deserve.

Wow I really related to a lot of your story . I played bass for 40 years, my left hand is paralyzed now so I can't do it anymore so I get to live vicariously through other bassists. I really enjoy your channel. One thing that you said that particularly Resonated with me was when you lost your cat. I know how much that hurts and Also decided I didn't want to do that ever again until another cat showed up at my door. The way I look at it now is that i got 12 years with The best being ever and there are lots of cats that need love in this world. The trade-off is always an impeccable relationship followed by devastating heartbreak, but it's worth it to experience that level of love. Keep making these videos, I really enjoy your content.

I'm so proud that davie managed to overcome his lack of confidence. Started as someone who never wanted to smile, laugh or talk much, now he's out there challenging musicians of various instruments and now he's having a go at twoset violin. I had a dog that I loved with all my heart. I had never felt such a deep love for anything before. He unexpectedly got ill at the young age of 4 and died 4 days later of kidney failure 😢. The pain of losing him was so great, I still feel it just from typing this and I vowed to never get another pet because I didn't want to lose them. Three years later a friend of mine rescued a 8 week old husky puppy and tried keeping her in his apartment without the landlord knowing which didn't last long. I saw him thar day putting a crate in his car and asked him if he got a dog? He told me the story and that he was taking her to the pound because he didn't have time to find her a home. The look in her eyes was God asking me to give this puppy a chance and learn to except that life has pain and suffering but life also has a lot more love and joy. I took that little puppy that moment and have never regretted it. Please rethink your position on being a pet parent again. Death is inevitable and it's just ONE experience. We have 100s of great experiences full of happiness, connection, and love in life and even more with animals in it. Great video!!! I get the feeling we would of been friends as kids:)

Idek why, but this got me really emotional. I've been watching Davie for a few months. I started watching him after I started my first bass lesson. After some time I stopped practicing, I was more focused on my school work and my other instruments like piano. After a while I stopped watching his videos, and then a 2 months ago, I started it again. He's really inspired me and I've been more motivated to practice and play this amazing instrument. I am so happy that I started watching your videos, and I want to thank you for the amount of time you've dedicated into this channel💖 To everyone out there playing an instrument, keep going. Also myself face this kind of not epic things and one day i came to think to end my life (well thats how it goes but i didnt do it anyway) and morrow after that i watched video about how Accepting who you are in the internet. That man in the video entirely changed my life. It was an amazing experience to felt that someone really understands what you feel or what you think and thats why as i watched this video i really want to hug davie but im a man so a wink will do i guess.
