Hi Davie, thanks very much for doing the video of my fly , its a brilliant saltwater sea trout fly that I've kept to myself for a number of years , I fish it with real confidence as I know they will come to it when other flies fail , I've even thought about taking it off on occasions and before you know it bang your in !! Its a proven fish catching fly 👍👍👍

Billy what a smashing pattern you have came up with there. I can see all sorts of wee adaptions I could do to tie a box full of terror's for my Son

Davie lovely fly superbly tyed as usual. And as I said to Billy I can see lots of slight variations I could make to it, I dyed a few lovely blue grizzle hackle for a pattern the other night that I think will work well.

Thank you, Davie, for another beautiful fly. I'm in the Midwest of the U.S. and we don't have too many sea trout to speak of. But there are plenty of good sized rainbows ( I've caught several in three to four and a half pounds) and I was wondering if a smaller version of this fly, maybe a #12 or #14 , would work well here. Always looking for something new to add to my box. Tight lines, my friend.

I’m not a sea fisherman these days Davie but I can’t deny that’s a very nice fly. I might have a try at tying it just to see how it comes out. Thank you for another one dude. 😊

Such gracile tails, love these patterns but love watching you tie them more. How might I get in on your monthly draws and how do they work. Thanks Davie can’t wait for the next tie. L 👍🎣👍

I'm glad you liked the fly.. All the very best Davie

I’ve always wondered what you use for varnish after the coat of super glue?

Almost like a Flatwing I would think this one looks even more attractiv for sea trout

Hi Davie, brilliant videos and it has inspired me to give it a go. I haven't seen you use UV resin yet on any the videos that I've seen. If you do then what would you recommend for resin and torch? It seems a bit of a minefield!! Great videos for learning. Thank you 👍🎣
@DavieMcPhail3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, The first resin I used was Bug-Bond with their pro torch and since then I have tried a few others over the years but I have to be honest I still prefer and use Bug-Bond Lite and Regular which will work with most patterns from small nymphs to large saltwater flies..I'm glad you enjoy the videos and the flies I tye.. All the very best Davie..

Looks great like the long tail. I think it tickles there vomer (tongue) That's were the big ones hook themselves I certainly don't hook them. The little 3 lbers. I can hook Anyways let them run and yes they can run and jump 200yds. Actually I troll and set hook after bite with electric motor take up now in line wake up the fish test 8lb. tippet and soon as I can let off drag let them run. Or you will loosen hook. Mind you the vomer on really big ones 8 to 10 lb. Is just a mass of scare tissue. Tide Lines = Tight Lines to ya all.
