Love the videos your so lucky Scotland never sold its water companies to the Chinese and other sovereign wealth funds and turned the rivers into sess pools like England.

I like the simplicity of this fly. I have all the materials for this one, so I'll give it a try. Have you tied these in other colors? If so, we're they as effective as the red one?

Great video and refreshing to see swinging wets. Sometimes the old ways still work the best.

I tied a few of these up the other day and got my biggest browns to date out of my home river the Cohocton. It measured 25-1/2 inches male no idea how much it weighed but it's my PB Brown on fly rod out of that river.

Very nice tie. Thank you. We use a similar fly in the NE US that uses Wood Duck for the wing. Very effective when fished just below the surface.

Very enjoyable to share your day Davie, thanks. Some lovely bird song doon the Doon - a beautiful blackbird. I feel sorry for the poor nesting birds this odd weather. We've just had a very weird, sparse mayfly season on the River Kennet in Berks. Pollution doesnt help, but the water's been over the banks all year - not normal chalk stream conditions. Hey ho. Roger

Hello Davie, as always very relaxing and inspiring to watch your videos 😊 I'm not much of a dryfly fisherman my self but im very curious how cdc act in a wetfly. I'm fishing alot of sea trout and usually ullsock and big spider patterns are the key to success, do you think cdc could be used for tying a ullsock that is more discreet than say a normal redtag ullsock? Greetings from Sweden 🙂

Really helpful seeing your use of materials, and getting the proportions right. As you say, the fish probably don’t mind but I don’t like fishing with scruffy flies! Thanks again. Tight lines

Very GRHE type pattern which of course is one of the greatest fish catching nymphs out there …. And with the addition of CDC it gives it (as ‘Mainely Flies’ puts it ) “That nice buggy look!!” … my local rivers here in Colorado are a bit of a mess at the moment with spring thaw run off but I’m definitely going to whip a few of these up for then they settle down … great video as always .. thanks 🙏
