06:47 The Card "Dark Simorgh" is one of the best examples if you want to explain Inherent/Non-Inherent Special Summons. Compare it with "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" (BLS). If you want to special summon BLS from your Hand you have to banish one Light and one Dark Monster. And if you want to Special Summon Dark Simorgh you have to banish one Wind and one Dark Monster. That looks completely the same just with different Attributes. But thanks to the Problem Solving Card Text you notice, that Dark Simorgh starts a Chain. And BLS does not.

After looking at some more videos and done some researces i think we have to update the terms inherent and non inherent summon: - "inherent" (or "direct summon", as i would call it) means that the effect is not an activated effect, so it does not have ":", which means that cards and effects can only be activated AFTER the summon is done. - "non inherent" (or "special summon effect") means that the text has ":" that indicates that it has a trigger condition you have to declare to start or continue a chain. The card will be summoned when it will reach the correct chain link

Honestly this could be circumnavigated if they just added brackets for activations, costs, and effects [a] [c] [e]. Also one of the stupidest reasons dark world barely saw competitive play even though they were discarded by an effect cost, it doesn't count as an effect but the card says discarded by an effect so it has to be an effect effect. Especially with graveyard replications because if diamond dude turbo had to copy the entire effect, that deck would've been garbage but because a judge set the precedent that effects are different from activation cost and effect, all of a sudden, worthless cards like magical stone excavation and lightning storm saw competitive play. But Kazuki Takahashi wanted the game to be too inclusive while contradictionally making it only appeal to a hardcore base, Meanwhile, that has to be the asshole when playing with casual players while they try to maintain interest, but sound like they are bending the rules in their favor (call of the haunted gets "negated" by d.d. crow or MST, magic jammer misses timing even though it's spell speed 3 but because optional effects and turn player priority are lower priority, it doesn't work that way)

I taught my girlfriend how to play with Melffys and I can promise you it is not a good teaching deck. The fact you are running a card that Synchro summons on your opponent's turn via card Effect should be enough to deter you from ever trying to teach this person how to use that deck to start LOL. The deck literally breaks rules.

now u only have to talk about systematic acknowledgement effects where stuff just works this way despite all logic contradicting that even though non of it is written on the card because ditto. yugioh is the only game where reading the card doesnt actually explain the card in regards to how it systematically functions we have to worry about all these hidden effects that exist just because, because konami refuse to stop printing busted stuff and refuse to address interaction issues.

@@davinator1212 I'm trying to convince my friends to play yu-gi-oh and so far your 101 series is the best one I could find in the whole internet because you assume the viewer have zero prior knowledge of the game. Your previous videos are very good information wise but they seem overwhelming to someone who doesn't know what tribute summoning is. I would like more of these videos (even remastering previous videos) for new players presenting the rules for new players In some of these videos you rush through the basics and said you would go in depth at a later video so I presumed there would be more. Making more shorter videos you could link each advanced concept while going through the basics. Like "you can only have one normal summon per turn but have no limit of special summons, to go in depth on normal summon click on the link up there (and link a video about normal summon). I know these are very basic and one should already know these if they want to play. The thing is, what about the people that DON'T want to play because even the basics seams complicated. Sorry for the big message and my poor english, thanks for the work you have already made, have a great day 👍
