Yep, I'm now 62, recobering from DEFEATING stage 3 lung cancer. Chemo and radiation beat me up pertty bad. Kinda in a forced retirement. Got a little 12X16 wood craft shop in the backyard. I do the craft show thing, feel like I do OK. After working most of my life its hard to kick back. I have found myself making special tools to help in the shop. I do scrollsaw fret work and couple yrs back got a mini wood lathe. Life is good.....

I especially like the cutoff railroad chunk for an anvil. Those 120 pound per foot rails, once a thousand freight trains have been over them, are pretty thoroughly worked hard steel.

Who doesn't need a drop hammer. Add a spring in either direction and you can vary the impact pressure from nearly zero to at least twice what he's got. Nice job!

Very nice da Vinci hammer. I built one from some cants of black locust timber. The fun part was coming up with a pulley combination to get the rpm just right. I see you added a caster the the helve to negate friction between it and the cam. I used a brass plate as a bearing shoe on the cam to negate wear and friction as my cam is made of fir timber.

After several years the brain cuts a lot of it out, but those frequencies are gone forever. Worst is, the hearing loss is asymmetric but the tinnitus is the same in both ears..so confusing.. Mainly industrial noise damage, but i supplemented that with Koss headphones that were capable of concert level decibels, back in the 70s and 80s.
