Outer stroke and the improved folder sync are going to be SO clutch (though I need to test if it will work for images too, which is more common for my use case). Edit: the ducker too! I keep VO separate from "main" vocal track because they are on different mics so this will save a lot of hassle. Thanks for pointing these out because it would have taken ages for me to notice these things.

Is there a way we can offset the timecode in the timeline?! If the video is starting with a title card and we want to start the timecode after the title card and from the first frame of the video ( to burn in to the video for edit conforming)

After creating a transition modification that I adjusted in fusion and having it wiped out by clicking set as blahblahblah... I'd quite like the fusion tab to have some kinda onion skin of the timeline so lining events up is easier. And to have it able to pick any of the timeline layers as a media in. At the moment that doesn't seem to work.

14:16 you need to mess with audio properties also. I had a clip with 4 audio tracks 2 of the tracks empty, 2 of the tracks had audio. I put the video in and it made 1 audio track.. however because the 2 audio tracks were mono and my timeline was set to stereo I still had to mess with audio properties. What I'm wondering now.. did it mix those 2 mono tracks together? Did it just not show the track giving me 1 mono track? If thats the case that's not good as your losing audio from your extra track.

Hello Alex, I was just wondering which program you use for recording your screen when using DaVinci Resolve. Your recordings look so incredibly sharp, whereas mine always seem a bit blurry, no matter which resolution I use to capture them.

It would be great if the ducker worked on 5.1 audio tracks, seems to be only available for stereo and mono tracks. Also if you have multiple music layers it would be nice to be able to duck the bus or a group of tracks.

Wish they would add the ability to set the timecode to 0 on all clips to make scrubbing clips to find stuff easier. When using action cams for all day recording it's a pain that the source viewer can't be set to 0 for the timeline.

Could you offer some advice of choosing a monitor/monitor setup for editing? I don't do high end coloring so it doesn't have to be an expensive one. I need a new display but can't decide, do I need wide, curved, multiple monitors or what? My current monitor which is dying is a single display a Visio 4k 42 inch and it worked ok for 2 years. But the LED backlighting is beginning to fail. So I don't know if I should go back to my previous configuration, dual 24" displays or if there is any advantage in having a curved display. I am even considering getting a curved display & a small HDTV.

One major fix that I can't see mentioned in the release notes is that 19.1 appears to now fix colour management in fusion on the Mac. In previously 19.x releases it seemed to only work reliably on Windows and on the Mac the colours between edit/colour pages still differed with Fusion, now it appears to be working correctly using the Fusion View LUT 🙂

I’m making this comment because I overheard something last week. Sorry that I’m straying a bit from the topic. Mr. Alex, you and your team have contributed for years to improving DaVinci Resolve. There are rumors that Apple might be considering making an offer. I hope the community can address this because, as a Windows user, I’m concerned that if it happens, they might remove all Windows features.

You could also make an empty project with all your folders in it and use it as a template. I have been doing it for ages. When I populate all the bins with the necessary files, I simply save it as a project with a different name and continue to work, while the template project still continues to live as an empty template. Why do you need it as a file on your desktop? Ducking on multiple tracks was available on the Fairlight page in earlier versions of DR.
@craiggodard64192 ай бұрын
I was excited to hear there was an update to the UI until I learned that it was just the ability to resize the resolve window on the second screen. We need better options for multiscreen workflows! Still a long way to go with ui customisation. I'd especially like to see options to bring inspector controls closer to the timeline and maybe some user definable presets or macros to avoid having to drag the mouse up and down to the inspector for repetitive operations. Why are the inspector controls I use the most (zoom and position and the keyframe controls thereof) furthest away from the timeline? Along with user definable macros maybe they could implement 'memory dots' (containing groups of presets) like some other programs do. Wouldn't take up much real estate near the timeline. There are lots of opportunies to make substantial QOL improvements just by improving the interface.
