We're a two person studio who's shot professionally for over 30 years. Budgets are always tight and we need the biggest bang for our $$$. The studio version has been one of our smartest software purchases every. 4 highly professional and capable apps integrated seamlessly into one round trip. No leaving the app at all. If your a small studio we recommend purchasing some piece of BM hardware and getting the studio version "free". We have the speed editor. For you "cheapskates" (like me) just do the math and you'll see.

Great video, thank you! 01:26 It’s worth mentioning that the Dialogue Separator feature isn’t easy to find. You need to click on the audio track itself (on the left side, where you can change the audio name or mute the track, etc.), and then the option for the Dialogue Separator will appear. It’s a bit of a hidden feature, which can be annoying.

An excellent overview of new features. I have one unresolved question: starting with Beta 1 DaVinci 19, the timeline slows down and when moving a large number of sliced parts of clips, when mounting a podcast, the timeline freezes for 5 seconds and when moving it is not visible where the clips are docked. This problem is on the company's website from the user. Why haven't we solved this important feature yet. Now this is a problem when cutting clips. It also manifests itself when copying clips and pasting them to a new location on the timeline Confirm or deny this. A very important point. Thanks

@@team2films it is usable for simple things, where the background and subject are already fairly separated. but i don't think i ever encountered a situation where i could actually use magic mask without having to do sooo much after-masking myself, animating masks to mask out areas that the magic mask for some reason were part of the subject even though they were clearly not. also it was very hard to work with because it resets when you change any node before it, which is workaroundable, not to mention at least to me it caused a lot of bugs when delivering. 50% of the time my project wouldnt render because of some issue with a magic mask, without giving a proper error message btw, i had to figure out myself the crash was due to the magic mask.

Now the thing im finding is that when I go to the fusion page the clip colour augments have not been updated, I thought this got sorted out in 19, and all the videos seem to show that it has. If however I go to the fusion page and adjust the colour and brightened with a node the changes show up in the edit and colour page, hope you can help me with this, I and using footage from my iPhone in rec 709. I have changed the settings in the settings tab but still not doing it. many thanks

It’s all about the ‘order of operations’. Fusion adjustments happen pre-colour. So when you are in the Fusion page you won’t see colour adjustments. It’s very normal.

@@team2films thank you for the very quick reply, This was updated in 19 tho wasn't it? many thanks

@@stehume Colour Management was added to the fusion page. But the order of operations is still the same. Fusion first, Colour second.

Are all these new tools available on the free version of resolve?

There is onscreen text in the video to indicate which version of Resolve the features are in. A lot of them are in Studio.

The problem with this version (I am on 19.01 studio) is that render times are very and I mean a lot slower than 18.6. I would not recommend that 19th version , at least not yet
@team2films2 ай бұрын
Sorry about that. Are you windows or Mac? If windows, you might need to update your GPU drivers. If you're having speed issues, that's a great thing to report on the official forums (if you havn't already). You might get some helpful advice on there.

@@team2films I am on windows. I have a NVIDIA 3090 that was very fast on version 18.6. I see the worst results when I apply NEAT Video. This plugin is now so slow that it is impossible to work with so I am staying with Davinci NR . Hope they fix this.

#3 Defocus Backround is, at least for my type of Video, is something I try to Avoid LIKE the PLAUGE. Toy Airplanes R/C Models specifically. Reason not IF but When some unfortunate R/C Pilot maakes a Smokk'n Hole with his $20K toy plane I want every single Piece of wreckage in perfact focus when I singl frame that Unfortunate Crash. I don't do Talking Head Crap, unless an interview with the Guy that just destroyed his $20 Thousand Dollor Toy.

Hi, how can I perform a back time edit in resolve 19?

Set an out point only on your source media, and then set an in and out point in your timeline.

Excellent video, clear and no wasted time. Please don’t use distracting background music (ie any) that makes it hard to concentrate on learning.

Our apologies. We put music on videos like this because these are overviews, rather than tutorials. Good news… there are proper tutorials for all the features we showed. Check the links in the description. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
